Man you had a streek of good luck shaneB.Congrats on your harvest, hope you can still go out and hunt some more.I was going to go out for the first time this morning, when we got to the farm it started lightening and pouring down rain so we turned around and came home.I think we are going to try it this afternoon and see what happens,I have never hunted this farm before, heck, this will be the first tome I have stepped foot on it.The guy I am going with has only hunted it 3 times and has seen lots of does and what he said was a nice buck, but he has never killed a deer so he could be small. If I see one I more than likely wont shoot because I have to work tomarrow and wont have time to take care of it but at leaste I will be in the woods.

Congrats buddy! That's a dream start to the season. Good job! I'd just love to get something on the ground at the start of the season. I really just can't wait to sit in a tree stand to tell the truth. I've been in the north east this week and a lot of the early smells of fall have already filled the air. It brings back so many memories of the past decade of hunting seasons. I'm jones'n.

Tag didn't come in the mail, should be here Monday or Tuesday, but I was able to get in some scouting and bag a blue wing teal to boot. I found an awesome spot along a heavily-used deer trail on some public land close by. Too far in to be packing in a ground blind and I don't have a tree stand so I've decided to use my longbow, instead of my Monster, and set up in some brush just off of the trail. Furthest shot should only be 10-15 yards. Should be reporting back with a doe here within the next week or two. :D

Dakota :)

Just thought to check in and see what's happening. Any name works for me. Gun hunter here. Kansas firearms is Dec 2 thru 13 and an antlerless season Jan 1 thru 10. Unfortunately, I'm changing jobs in a couple weeks so won't have the vacation time to spend in the field the whole season and will only get to hunt about 4 days of the season.

Good luck to all.

I'll spare you all the fun...My 2 month old rest broke right before I was going to hunt. Now my bow is at the shop getting a rest installed and have everything looked over. I'll get to pick it up Friday and the owner is going to teach me how to do tuning on my own so I can be ready for Fri pm and the weekend...Customer service from the rest company seemed good at first, but we'll have to see how the promises hold up.
