It happens Jeremy. Get out there every day and practice. Remember what I told you before, practice in what you are going to wear out to the stand.

Just got back from a pretty upsetting weekend on the farm. The first morning, I saw 3 shooters and 4 other bucks. I got some of them on cam, and after reviewing the tapes, one of the shooters was every bit of 160. None came in to range. The rest of the weekend was pretty slow. We barely saw any rutting activity until the day we left.

All in all, I saw 5 different shooters and passed on a doe or two. None of the shooters came inside 50 yds. I guess that's why they're big. I'm taking shotgun season off and might not be able to get back out there until December some time.

I just looked at the scores and I'm impressed with how many big deer are being taken ACROSS the board. Good deal.

I'm really looking forward to our rifle season, but I do hate it because it really gets the deer spooked quick and they feel the pressure. So much of my bow hunting is centered around not letting them feel like they're being hunted.

Good luck team, can't wait to see a few more fall.

I couldn't agree with you more. Every year our town is flooded with orange and with people who call themselves hunters. They pick up their guns, walk through the woods, and shoot anything that jumps up. The deer that I spend 9 months out of the year patterning and learning their movement go into lockdown somewhere after this weekend. The worst part about it, those one weekend a year hunters usually take the deer I've been feeding, drawing in, and watching grow, or the big buck I've been chasing for two years that wouldn't come within 50 yds of me. Chip shot for those slug guns.
