Didn't have much luck. I saw a handful of deer mostly small bucks not worth taking. i did shoot a nice fox squirrel though on my way out of the woods the other morning. A 100 grain muzzy puts em down pretty quick. Didn't have to blood trail him too far. He was perched up on a fallen branch. Got a total passthrough but never found my arrow. I guess he got the last laugh.

I'm heading down to the Shawnee Natl forest tomorrow for a weekend hunting trip. If the rain clears out i should get some shots. If not i'm sure my cooler will be lighter on the way home;)

Congrats on the buck todd!! I'm not having a great season. Deer sightings are way, way down on my property...not sure why. Will be out tomorrow morning in the rain again. If it's a bust, probably gonna head to a piece of state land that I haven't hunted in 2 years, and have a couple stands in.

Thanks John!

Keep at em they will show up!

Well we currently are in 4th place with 15 points.

First place has 19 points. So if some was to smoke a doe we would be in the lead!!

I am going to go out in the morning....does are in trouble since I can't shoot another buck until after season. So since I can't I am sure every buck in the woods will walk by my stand....:hammer1:

Good thing I am taking the video camera! THis will be the first time I have hunted our family farm all year so it should be interesting!:clown:

Good Luck guys!

Hey team! 4 days and I will be 18 feet up my favorite oak tree. Saturday morning I'm going to be holding out for the Wide 8 and the Wide 8 only. Saturday afternoon any slickhead that decides to step in front of me will get thwacked. Reason is that I only have one doe tag this year and I would rather fill it Saturday afternoon when my girlfriend will be next to me. ;) I want her to see what it's like. Even if we don't get to kill one, just to see some deer would be pretty cool. I have to go get my Summit from the garage. My pack is all packed, bow is tuned and I'm ready. I'm so stoked it's not even funny. Lots of acorns, rubs and scrapes. The anticipation is killing me.

I killed a doe this weekend down in the Shawnee national forest. The pic i have of it is pretty crappy because all i had was my phone. Considering we were a mile away from the nearest road with an all uphill travel. We skinned her and quartered to get her out of the woods. I should get another one before long. But if by end of season I don't i'll post the crappy pic and enter her. But like i said I shouldn't have much of a problem matching or beating her.

Alright team. Well it's finally here. Opening day is tomorrow and the weather is officially gonna suck. Where I live here in Rockland we're expected alot of rain through Sunday night. Now after this weekend, I can't hunt again until Tuesday morning due to my school and work schedule. Tuesday is supposed to be nice. But now where my property is in Sullivan County, an hour northwest of my house here in Rockland, they are supposed to get close to 7" of snow over the next 3 days. But the place in Sullivan doesn't have the quality of deer my place here in Rockland does. So do I get rained on and hunt an area with alot of deer or go to Sullivan and bowhunt snow on opening weekend and hope to stick something?
