I rattled in 4 bucks yesterday, Had a decoy out for the first time. I had a buck that dwarfed this one come atthe decoy, he was broadside at 25 yards, and I couldn't get a shot. He then bedded 100 yards away, for over an hour. right at dark a doe cruised through, and the bigger buck picked her up. She was bringing him right to me, but the deke spooked her. She went around the deke, and they and they passed at about 40 yards. The doe headed right to me, but the big boy charged up the hill. I heard some thrashing around, and this smaller one comes running down the hill, nose to the ground, at the doe. 8 yards, straight in front of me. I let the Wasp Boss Bullet eat!!! he went about 120 yards at a full out run.

He weighed 170 on the gambrel. Tonight when skinning him, found a puncture wound from an antler about 8 inches below my entrance would, that pierced the chest cavity, and another on his throat that just missed the esophagus.. Both wounds looked as fresh as my arrow wound, by the clotting of the blood under the skin. Thinking the thrashing around I heard might have been the 8pt pushing him around.

Our pinch hitter just took one out of the park ladies and gentlemen!!!!!!

Atta boy I can't wait to hear the details. He looks like he's at least 3.5 and great boy size as well! He looks like a 8 but I can't tell exactly. Either way he would be on my wall!!!!

He's a 7 pointer Hoosier. So, 12 points. With the deer I'm seeing, I hope to upgrade.

Well.. little did I know that it was raining this morning. I thought everything was going to be a perfect morning because last I checked, it was gonna be around 40 degrees at sunrise and a slight wind. Man was that off. It poured all morning. Then it stopped raining. Then the wind picked up. I got out of the tree around 10am. Didn't see a thing but tree rats and chipmunks.

Hey team... well I have some good news finally!!! I smoked two does this morning. They were about 10 minutes apart from eachother. The first one was a perfect double lunger and the second one was a bit far back. The arrow smelled funny and was brown so I thought. I backed out and took care of the first one that was dead only 50 yards away. Went to the deli, got some breakfast then went back out with my brothers. We followed blood all the way to a cliff and guess who lay at the bottom of the clilff? My doe lol Pics and complete story will be up later. I have to go work a 7 hour shift at the supermarket starting at 1PM. Been up since 4:15AM.. should be interesting :hammer1::clown:

Grrrrr I had my 2nd miss with a gun in 15+ years of hunting. It was just a doe, but I couldn't close the deal. Somewhere around 125-150 yards. I fogged the darn scope and rushed the shot. Opening weekend was crazy and I'm actually planning on not hunting for a little bit to give the deer our land as a hide out. We have a very long gun season here in Indiana so I have plenty of time....

Well guys I'm just itching to shoot something here. 3 of my hunting buddies tagged deer on Monday and I can promise the next adult doe probably isn't going to be as lucky as the last one that stepped out. As for bucks, the trail cams were very promising early in the year, but once Sept hit I haven't gotten a shooter on the cameras which is depressing in iteself when your used to seeing great bucks on camera.
