Guys this has been a season for the record books and not in a good way. I've hunted my rear end off and it took me this long to close the deal on a doe of all things. I haven't had a shooter buck grace my eyes since July. After all of that it also will be my most memorable season in a good way because of below:

The story on this doe is special for me because my wife was hunting with me for the 1st time! We got out pretty late about 4 P.M. hunting in our shooting house. Right away we had two does in the field at 242 yards. Little bit of a stretch for the muzzleloader. At about 4:50 we had a little doe step into the cut corn followed by 3 more yearlings and one 1.5 old doe. Just as I was getting ready to shut the shooting window to the west I see a doe standing inthe beans. So now we have does on the west and south of us. I waited for about 10 minutes just to see if a buck would come out as Jenny has only a buck tag(she wants a bigger deer than I have on the wall:clown:) Nothing showed so I decided to take the single doe. The hammer dropped and she jumped and ran into the lightline. We waited a little bit and got down and boy do I have a heck of a good tracking partner. She wasn't bleeding much and Jenny took to it like a bloodhound and was 10 yards out ahead of me on the blood! The doe made it about 80 yards even though I took the top of her heart off! After loading her into the ranger we were off. Here's a picture of her.

I will be muzzloader hunting the late season and I also have a property that I will be hunting that we don't manage for bucks so ANYTHING that comes out will bite it up there in the last couple weeks of the season....

Hey team.. I shot a 6 pointer this morning. He has 7 points but one isn't an inch long. Only about 3/8". He was only a 2.5 year old but we're getting down to the wire here in NY so I made the executive decision to take him. Oh and the best part about it is, I did it with my bow in the regular firearms season. It was a 38 yard shot on the ground and slightly quartering toward me. That's the farthest shot I've ever taken on a deer before and I made it. :) I was confident in my ability to make the shot as I practice out to 60-70 yards every year and can hold a 3" group at 50 yards with broadheads. So I knew I could make the shot without a doubt. The Slick Trick ate right through him and he only went 75-80 yards. He left a blood trail a blind man could follow. He's no monster but he'll eat good. I'll get the tag pics and everything taken care of sometime this week. These pics are off my cell. We took better ones with my buddies stepdad's camera but I'll have to wait to get a hold of them.

My gun season was a bust....>Well it was a good time and I saw several bucks but just not THE buck I wanted. I took the entire week off from work and hunted about every day from day light till dark. I have quite a bit of video to edit and maybe post......

I have a late season ML season still yet.... And with the several food plots of beans and turnips I have high hopes. I just hope and pray the weather cooperated.....The colder and nastier the better!!
