CTBowMan
We're on the scoreboard I double lunged a button buck tonight!! Looking forward to upgrading but at least we're on the board and it's a start! http://www.realtree.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1124051&postcount=25 ~ Van
MCH
Congrats CT! Maybe that will get the ball rolling! Barring a major catastrophe, I'm putting us on the board this weekend! I guess a major catastrophe could be that I didn't see a single deer the whole weekend? I hunted almost 10 hours a day and have nothing to show for it except a close encounter with a bear on my way to my stand in the dark. MCH
Supposed to be cooler this weekend. Should be able to hunt both mornings. The special youth rifle season is this weekend as well...should get the deer moving. Blackpowder opens the 24th and ends the 1st of November. I'm taking 2 weeks vacation starting the 9th of November, so I'll hopefully have some points on the board before December rolls around. coles
Well guys....Only a week till my girlfriend and I leave for hunting Camp. Rifle season opens next Sunday and i am beyond pumped. That will help me get the motivation to get my 3 school projects done before we leave! Weather is supposed to be High 40s to Low 50s and sunny! Not the best weather for animal movement but it will keep my girlfriend from freezing to death on her first day hunting. She went with me a couple times last year but this is the first year she has her own tags in her pocket! Did i already mention i am PUMPED!!!!!!???? KirkV
1st Doe Down Baby That's right put some meat in the freezer! I shot a nice doe this morning and cut the tenderloins out already. I will let her hang today and tonight as temps are supposed to only get to 52 as a high here today. I will post her up probably tomorrow when I have more time. Kirk;)
MCH
Congrats Kirk!! Things are heating up down here. I've hunted at least 10 times prior to today and I've seen a total of 1 deer within 30 yards. This morning......10. One of them is eventually going to slip up and give me a shot. Going back in tonight, but I'm changing trees. Wish me luck!
brad dryden
Congrats we are Finally in the running...but then again we were just letting everyone get a head start before we started laying them down right?
MCH
Hunted last night and this morning....didn't see anything. I think the new tree isn't going to work out. Had a deer blow near my old set-up. Walked by there on my way out and hogs had rutted around that morning. Wouldn't mind sticking a few of those either. brad dryden
I have been out some was busted by a doe not sure if she seen me or not but she knew something was off I guess. I have just been busy with cutting crops and only hunt once or twice a week.
coles
Sunday is slowly getting closer! Wish us luck and good luck to you guys as well!
MCH
Shot a doe Wednesday morning but unfortunately didn't recover her. I know the shot was lethal, but unfortunately I couldn't devote the amount of time needed to recover the deer. Anyway, as hard as that was, the fact that I saw a lot of movement has my hopes up for the next 4 weeks.
JackedUpZ71
Saw a little buck chasing a tiny doe this morning. The combined weight of the two would probably be around 200lbs lol, but still a good sign.
CTBowMan
Congrats Kirk!!! The weather here hasn't been the greatest, got a nice wide 8 on my trail cam, and found last years shed while hunting near that spot on Monday, sooooo now it's just a matter of getting him in there during the daytime, and sealing the deal! The rut will be here soon! The next 2 weeks should be an amazing time to be in the woods!! ~ Van

MCH
Taking off tomorrow for my kids Halloween parties at school. They're later in the day, so weather permitting, I should be able to get a hunt in early. I really like my chances Saturday morning though. Temps should get into the 30's and a West wind(which is perfect for my honey hole). Good luck everyone!
MCH
Passed several does and smaller bucks Friday and Saturday. Shot and missed a nice 8 pointer this morning. Had him within 15 yards, but no shot. He winded me and ran off about 60 yards. I grunted and he stopped, quartering away. It was a tight shot and if I had it to do over, I would not take the shot..... BUT I took it. Must've pulled it because he ran off like nothing was wrong. Got down at the end of the hunt and couldn't find any sign that he was hit. Found where he had spun out and followed his tracks for quite a ways. Anyway, this has been one of the worst seasons ever. This is the latest into the season that I've gone without killing something!! Oh well, I go on two weeks vacation next weekend. Should be able to score something with the stick and string.
