I see a few people have killed on other sites and one on here but they must not be in contest because no posts yet. I can not wait till I can go out. Went to doc yesterday about my knee and he said I will be off of work untill Oct 9th now. Our season starts Oct. 1st. I have the whole month of Nov off for vacation so I am ready! I am moving really good so not sure why he put me back to the 9th. I am going out to put up my trail cam again in a few minutes. Hope to get some pictures of bucks instead of fawns and does. That is all I have got so far. I have standing corn so I bet they are in the fields.

Well My bow is in the shop having the strings and cables changed because a broadhead hit the cable and cut a couple strands. So the shop said it should have the new strings and cables by thursday and it will be done the same day so I will have to sight everything back in. Season down here doesn't start till Oct 17th though so I have time. great name and signature!!!

Steady rain down here. Won't get to disc until next weekend for the first cutting, then hopefully plant first of Oct, which means for a month I'll have to hunt acorn trees which look sparse there this year. Never fails, oaks at home are loaded, the ones at the camp arent, lol. Oh well, I've seen a nice little 8 come up in the back yard a couple of times, eating persimmons. He'll needs to watch what he's doing, lol.

I'm waiting on Oct 1st myself. Looks to be a slow opener unless I get lucky and find a decent buck, but food sources looking slim so far. More activity with the persimmon tree close to my house than at the camp. Hope this rain will get out of here so we can get to cutting some ground at the camp. Wont be long. Last week to get some final preparations made.

I put my trail camera up today and not going back till opening day of season. All the corn in my area is still really green. I think it will be a waste of time untill they get the corn out but you never know! First slick head is going to die because my freezer is empty!

Yeah, I got my last pack of smoked sausage in the frig now, will be gone by the end of the week. I just can't get in the mood with this weather right now. When it aint raining down here lately, it's so stinking humid you can't stand to be outside. But I'll be out there somewhere by the end of next week, waiting on something to slip by and slip up. :D

I saw the news with the flooding down there! Boy I hope all is safe. I saw where the mom and dad jumped in water with both of them holding a kid each and dad lost his boy from being knocked around in the water! How sad! My prayers go out to the family and friends!

We've been spared the torrential rains in AL, TN, and GA, thank God. It's just nasty is all, but I can't complain, we need the rain overall, it's just impossible to plant. I went south a bit to my in-laws property. About 50 acres there and the acorn crop looked pretty good overall. I'm going to focus on that first part of the season. Already have a ladder stand there, just need a little re-securing this weekend. Deer quality not the best there, but I did take a decent 12 pt last year on Christmas day.

Ok, boys... Who's going tomorrow? The time is upon us finally, and the weather's right. I'll do my best to get off a little early tom and get a couple of hours in the stand. IF it don't rain thurs night/fri morning, we're going to go all out on food plot work, so my fri and sat hunting may be screwed up, but that's just the hand that we got dealt by mother nature this year. I'll be lucky to work in 3 hunts between now and monday morning, but I'll take what I can get. Still nothing great on the cam, but I got it parked under some white oaks dropping pretty good now, and we'll see what's there. I'm planning on smacking the first big nanny I see :D

Good luck to ya men.
