mossyhorn
I took my little brother out with me saturday morning. Had a doe come in and I rushed the shot and misjudged the distance. I guess you always need something to remind you that just because one is down, doesn't mean they all will. Man happens to the best....I am on vaccation as we speak. Problem is the blazer broke down. But we got everything fixed last night...I have to also buy a new battery for it, mine cant hold charge anymore. I am after em this evening though

rhine16
Good luck Mossy! Went to the public land this morning and lost the coin toss for best tree in the area with my buddy. He had a doe on the ground within an hour. Since he has a deer now, we'll start filming our hunts out there. Will be able to get out before my 9 o'clock class on MWF now. mossyhorn
Boy I put a lot of time in today and came back empty handed. I just came in about 15 minutes ago, so I have been in a blind for 8 1/2 hours. And to beat all I seen a doe as soon as I hit the road. But resting this evening and tomorrow back some light clothes so I can walk a little before I leave.

mossyhorn
So I need to know how to break a curse. I think someone has dropped some voodoo on me because I cant think of any other reason why as much as I have hunted I have not seen a single deer while in stand. Seems like this year is going just as bad as last. Today was 11.5 hours sitting there waiting. Then I leave right at dark. 2 miles down the road and deer are everywhere. Help me find some luck!!!! mossyhorn
Hey man congrats...thats a nice one. As for me I only seen a doe this morning but the ground blind spooked her, then the rabbit hunter came. Needless to say the morning fell apart. But this evening I am going for an easier kill. I hate hunting behind my house because the noise from traffic drives me crazy but there are always deer around. So I think I am going to fetch some meat for the freezer tonight. mossyhorn
I going to be sick guys. Had the chance to bag the biggest buck I have ever seen in the woods yesterday morning. I shot and he ran stopping behind a tree. He steps out giving me the perfect chance. I let the .30-.06 ring out and he hit the ground. I was just about to freak out when he jumped up and ran off. Now I wasn't to worried I thought I made a good hit. I gave him sometime and started tracking. 50 yards later I lost blood. So I back off and go get some friends to help track. 6 of us searched for hours until we came across a small speck of blood about 700 yards from the shot. He was moving into the duck refuge. We found only one more speck of blood another 200 yards away. So we cover every bit of this marshy land looking for where he may have bedded down. We also check to other ridges and no sign of any kind of this deer. I fear he made his way to the next ridge where I heard many gun shots that morning. If this is the case I have lost what looked to be a 10 piont. As of last night the best we can figure is he went that way. I shot him just after day light and we search well into the night. I was so tired when I got home I just crashed out as soon as I sat down. I am trying to keep hope that I will find him this evening but I just dont know. mossyhorn
No such luck . This the first one to ever get away from me and well it sucks. But on a better note my dad called and said he seen a big one yesterday morning at my uncles farm. I already have a good idea of how he is moving and plan on putting stand up this weekend incase i dont get him with a gun over the next couple weeks.
