#15 Team THWACK

Recommended Posts

I had a doe and fawn come in this morning but elected to pass because the fawn still had spots. Then I had a button buck come through. Both came through around so I left at 10 thinking the deer activity was over. Wrong, didn't get on the road good and had a hoss cross the road in front of me.

Doesn't look like I'll be out again until Sunday evening. I'm about to head back toward school to watch us play Georgia Tech tonight.

Well nothing yet again....I am starting to feel bad. I have yet to see a deer this year while in a stand. The deer moved late due to the full moon. Come around 10:30 we decided to go get some food and seems like at that same time someone flipped the ok light for deer to move. I walked 50 yeards and jumped a doe. Another 100yards and jumped a spike. So back to the stand I went. Just down the hill from it I see to young deer playing and they soon ran off. By 1:00 I was back home. Didnt go this evening decided I needed to get so sleep and rest up before another week of work. But I talked to my boss come Oct. 31 I am going to take 5 days off and live in a tree. I feel with this sudden cold weather we could see an early rut but that just me. I figure the end of the month is a good time considering no firearm season would be in at the time. Muzzleloader comes in either next week or the week after.

It has been a miserable last two days guys. I've seen none from the stand on either of the three sits. I've seen a few walking in and out, actually almost got a shot off at a doe with the recurve as I was walking out yesterday. Just didn't happen though. I was planning on heading back to school now, but I think I'm going to wait and hunt this afternoon. 40% chance of storms starting about two hours before dark so maybe they'll feed before the storms move in.

Things are looking up for Josh these days.

1. I have been moved closer to home, for now. But I have been getting home at 6 rather then 9.

2. My boss told me today that if nothing comes up I am taking Saturday off.

3. Matt just called and he spotted a good 8 where we have been hunting. And I get first shot being it is the spot I picked out.

That sounds good Mossy! It's only a matter of time until you connect.

I hunted public land this morning but saw none. I'm not sure when I'll hunt again. Have tomorrow afternoon through sunday afternoon to hunt. However, thunderstorms should start rolling through tomorrow morning through Saturday. Hopefully I'll upgrade my doe with some bone pretty soon.

We're going up tonight will be out in the morning and evening. We might drive up to Moose lake and hit my clover/hay field tomorrow night. Neighbor has been seeing a good buck and two does every night out there on the field. We'll be out all day Saturday too. I'll probably be able to make into WI on Monday evening too. Sounds like stuff is really heating up over there. Buddy has seen 3 buck fights since I've last been there. A few really big shooter bucks and lots and lots of other deer.
