LLBUX
LLBUX from Illinois checking in. Our bow season runs Oct 1-January 15-ish. Start thinking of team name and a team captain. Let's get 'em! Arnie Rahe-LLBUX
Rhino
Rhino from Mississippi checking in. Our bow season starts Oct. 1st and including all the weapons seasons here in MS it runs through Jan. 31st. Chase phase rutting activity here doesn't start cranking up until ~Dec. 10th and peaks around Christmas. I'll spend a week bowhunting in Illinois too from Oct. 23 through the 30th. I'll also spend a week or so bowhunting in Kansas from Nov. 18th through the 25th. Both are private land do it yourself hunts. In between those 2 out of state hunts I'm heading to Iowa with a friend of mine who drew an Iowa tag. I'm tagging along to film his bowhunt since I didn't draw a tag there. It will be private land, do it yourself too. Gotta love it!!! Needless to say I won't hunt at all in MS from Oct. 19th through Thanksgiving with those road trips planned this year but I'll still manage to get 40 or so days of deer hunting time in the woods here at home before the season's over. Needless to say...I'm sure gonna try & get em. I'm open to team names. Al
NiteRunner
Hey All, NiteRunner (Laura) checking in! My PC Crashed and I've been getting it back up and going, so that's why I'm a tad late. Sorry! Archery season kicks in Sept. 26th!! I've never taken a deer with the bow yet, but I'm giving it heck this year, I promise. I also found out that I got picked for a controlled hunt in Nov. That should yield something good, or at least I'm hoping. No name ideas yet, but I'll be thinking. I won't be around the next couple days, but I will be back and yacky after that! GOOD LUCK TEAM!! Rhino
I'm heading out to our hunting club this afternoon to shine the seat of a tractor with my rear end through Labor Day so I'll be out of touch until next Tuesday. Hope we have more teammates check in by then. Here's a few suggestions for team names. I'm open to any name though. Smack Attack RealTeam Aerial Assault If ya'll vote before I return count me in with the majority.

Rhino
Hummm...little surprised we still have 3 teammates that haven't checked in yet. Are we just going to stay Team Sweet 16 or pick a team name?
LLBUX
I was thinking Sweet 16 too. Wanta be Capt. for us?
Rhino
Arnie, I'm a better indian that the Chief, especially this year. I may set a new personal record for days spent in the deer woods. When I take off on my 1st road trip on Oct. 23rd I won't have much of a chance to check in until after the Thanksgiving holidays. I'll have 2 to 3 days to regroup between my 3 road trips. When the MS late prerut period starts around the 2nd week of December I'll also spend a lot of time in the woods here through the end of the 1st week of January. I'm sure fine with the name Sweet 16 though Arnie.

LLBUX
Have had precious little time this year to scout out new areas. Guess I'll have to rely on the old stands this year. Good luck all-

Rhino
OK...7 out of 8 teammates checked in now. Anyone have another team name to suggest or is Sweet 16 OK for the team?
NiteRunner
Sweet 16 works for me, or maybe Sweet 16 Slayers Been seeing more Buck movement on the trail cams, got a small 7 point that shed his velvet already, but the day or two before that had another smallish buck still in full velvet. Can't wait for season, week and a half a way!
Rhino
Sweet 16 Slayers I like that too NiteRunner. Everyone else OK with that?
youngbuck30230
food plot that we planted last week
NiteRunner
Youngbuck, I hope them deer like that plot! That's been one of my goals, to plant a food plot. Haven't completed that task yet though.
Rhino
Cool Youngbuck We haven't gotten our seed in the ground yet. We've been getting so much rain lately we can't even disc our plots. Looks like we're in store for more rain through the beginning of next week. Hopefully we can start planting the weekend of the 26th but there won't be much in our plots for the deer to munch on until the 2nd weekend of bowseason. I've got enough stands in the woods though to do some damage in the mean time.
ny_gun
I am good with the name... We have a few weeks until the NY season starts but I am getting ready.
NiteRunner
Game Time is drawing near! Not much for deer sightings as of lately, but we'll see how it goes this saturday.
Rhino
Good luck with your opener this Saturday NiteRunner. I have to wait until next Thursday before ours opens but I'll be in a tree at dawn then through the beginning of the following week. While you're hunting I'll probably be planting. That is if it quits raining.
