"Pretty windy" was an understatment Tracey. I thought it was supposed to die down alittle. Thank God for my HSS vest! LOL Anyways, it was a pretty rough night in the stand, one chipmunk, two racoons, one cat, and one 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer at 15 yards. I think the wind had them hunkered down....

Had a GREAT night in the stand. 3 raccoons, one nubby, one doe, one 2 1/2 year old 8-10 pointer, and two MONSTER bucks at 15 yards!!! The lil stinkers came out on the wrong side of a big oak. I got a really good look at them as they wallked directly away from me offering no shot. Oh well, maybe tomorrow... A great night in the tree none the less...

Went deerless today. The morning was looking like rain. Thought sure something would be moving. Wind blew away the afternoon hunt. Was in a stand where I could see a good long way. Trouble was there was nothing to look at.

Good luck with those big boys, Randy! I'll be able to shoot a buck starting Saturday.

Things have slowed down considerably. The neighbors have the deer moving after dark now. The one neighbor hunts his couple stands no matter what wind:stupid:and the other one has turned his property into a :gun_bandana::2guns:so for the time being.........:surrender:

I did pass a rather impressive 6pt last night. He didn't grow any brow tines for some reason. He is a stud yearling buck for sure.

Yeah things slowed down here too Tracy. It's just a matter of a couple weeks and all heck is going to break loose! My buddy whacked a doe last night and after we found her we dragged her too the road. My buddy turned his truck around and shined his headlights in the field and there was a dandy along with 8 other deer in the field. Hopefully he sticks around til Nov.! Good Luck all!!

Missed a doe at 20 yards tonight. Didn't see the small branch at 18. She showed up fairly early so I took the shot. Hope I didn't spook her too bad. Had a bunch of doe and fawns come in late. The lead doe was a cow. She know something was up and never crossed the creek. Funny how they do that.

Didn't see much in the morning except a doe taking her bunch the other way. Took my climber to a random tree I found yesterday. I turned to look through the only opening to the meadow and there was a doe eyeballing me. She didn't blow or raise her tail so that is a good thing. I hope!

Pretty windy here today. I had a monster sized deer at 25 yards this morning in the dark, I couldn't see the rack. Then one nubby after light. Tonight I saw a little 8 pointer and a 2 1/2 year old 8 pointer. Kicked two doe out on my way back to the truck.

The bucks are starting to chase a little. The cooler cloudy days seem to be the best. I think there's a chance of rain tomorrow and a little cool front coming through. I'd imagine I ought to try again tomorrow! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

We've been busy hunting so I haven't been on in a while.

My Doe fawn from Nov. 1st. She bagged me 2 weeks ago and blew and blew and blew. She won't blow anymore:clown:

My Dad's first crossbow buck.

And my brother's 9pt. It is his best bow buck to date.

Hope everyone is doing well. Especially hope William is enjoying his time in Wisconsin hunting with Randy. And Mike, ya going easy on the deer out there or what?:)
