But school ends on Wednesday and I just got an invite tonight to go hunt my uncle and cousins place. It is a bit of a drive, maybe an hour at the most, but they have a lot of deer out there. My uncle bought it, and my cousin built himself a house on it. 70+ acres and they have a bunch of stands out. I might head out there and try it next weekend before heading to the U.P. From what I hear, there is a ton of deer out there, a few good bucks. I'll be happy if I can at least take a doe or two out there. That's all that's been coming by me for the last 2 weeks. Deer are moving very well here in Iowa and hopefully the big boy will soon make a mistake and show up. She had surgery a week ago where they had to pin up the stomach/bladder and has had some complications the last few days. Tell you pray works or God works more like it and thank God for the emergency staff. She's doing better now, still weak though. Got some funny looks going in with my camo, safety belt on, at lest the nurse thought it was cool. Here's my doe, it was about a 20 yd shot quartering away. Came out right behind the shoulder for a good shot (lungs and clipped the heart), didn't go far. She'll be good eating . Sorry I don't take the best pictues lol. The first doe came by and she was too BIG, the second one followed and she was too SMALL, the third one followed and she was just the RIGHT SIZE. Some good eatin' this winter!!!! Michiganbowhunter_SQ2 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Share Posted November 8, 2009 4 more days ....that is when we are heading up to the Upper Peninsula for the gun opener here in Michigan. We will bow hunt a couple of days, and then the opener is on Sunday. We are coming home wednesday night, so we should have plenty of time up there. On another note, my classes ended on Wednesday and I got my grades, I got a B+ in my Small business Management class, and I got an A- in my English class (this is the class I have been having trouble with and I had to take it 3 times, I passed the classes, but you have to get a certain grade to take english 2, I kept missing it by 7 and 9 points ) Now all my focus is going to be on hunting.
