iabow
Just got back from an antelope hunt in Wyoming. No luck. Season starts Oct 1st. I usually do not hunt much until the third week in October. Bow and the early muzzleloader season. I will take a doe for meat and usually try for a 150+ inch buck, unless it's really unique or a large 8 point. Good luck to all and nice to be on the team pointingdogsrule PDR were in Wy did you hunt? My aunt owns a ranch in the black hills of Wy, near Alladin. pointing_dogs_rule
I hunted antelope in Chugwater which is about 40 miles north of Cheyenne. For the last 8 years I have hunted whitetail 5 miles west of alladin. What is your aunt's last name? Wouldn't happen to a Croell would she? good luck to all the dog
iabow
Charles "Booie" and Pat Dirks. I have to ask if they know any Croells. That sounds real close to her.

Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Season starts a week from tomorrow. Not going to lie guys, I probably won't be able to get out as much as I want or usually do, or at least not right away. I have a couple tough classes this semester, one that I HAVE to pass, I have taken it twice already, and though I have not failed it, and earned enough points to get credit for it both times, I have been a few points away from being able to move on to the next class. I really have to concentrate as much as I can on it. And the other class doesn't look like it is going to be any fun either. The good news is that these classes are only 6 weeks long, so around the first week of November I'll be done (they start tomorrow), and won't have to go back until January . I'll still try and get out a few times though, but I won't be able to hit it hard until after they are done. I'll be able to get out a lot during our regular firearm season, and our 2 week muzzleloader season though, and late season archery too. Good Luck everyone. buckee
I blew it this morning. I had around 7 bucks go by me on the other side of the field. I left my spot and cut around the farm to try to cut them off, because there were 2 shooters in the bunch. I almost got to where I thought I might intercept them. Out steps 2 spikers at 30 yrds. I could see 3 of the bigger guys antlers in behind the grass and they looked like they were coming though the little gap too. The 2 spikers, didn't really spoke and run, but were watching me and walking stiff legged. The other bucks saw them and knew something was up, so they took off and went the other way. Now, that is not where I blew it, because I was really close to bagging a buck there, and the excitement was worth the heartbreak. Where I blew it was leaving my spot in the first place. After getting busted in the little stalk, I hiked back up to the farm, only to look across to see a really big brute walking right past where I was sitting. It would have been a perfect 20 yrd shot, if I had of stayed there. And he even stopped to smell the "Code Blue" scent I put out. DANG, DANG, DOUBLE DANG.!!! I should know better. My motto is "stick and stay, make er pay" and I went against my own motto ..LOL Hey...I'm getting closer.
pointing_dogs_rule
Buckee: As a old hunter like me, you know to keep hunting that stand. That big boy will remember that scent and "HE WILL RETURN". Good luck, Buckee good luck to all the dog
