I swear that Indiana deer have entirely different attitudes that deer I've encountered in Virginia, Illinois and Minnesota. I can't confirm the voracity of that claim about the decoys, but I've seen deer ignore them myself in Indiana - thought it was a glitch in the matrix, then I left it out and coyotes ate the rear end.

So Indiana Coyotes love them.

Now about the snort wheeze: Short answer is that I don't know, but for sure in Indiana, if a deer blows at you and you blow back (you have to practice), they will stop and come back. I've done it and I've shot deer that way. They'll hide behind a tree for awhile, but they'll come back. I've spent as long as 10 minutes blowing back and forth to keep a deer in its place.

So, the snort wheeze may indeed work.
