dawgitall
Switchback with the matthews drop away(came with the bow). Never had a problem at all. This evening when I shot the bow seemed a little louder and 3 fletchings (different arrows) began to come off. I did not shoot any more. Arrows still grouped well. I have not set a drop away rest before, but it sounds like it may be out of sync or just not dropping quick enough. Anybody know a quick fix. Thanks guys! Tom2008
Trade it in for a wisker biscuit. I wouldn't recommend that, but yes there is an easy fix. Bring it to your shop and have them take a look at it. I'm sure it is an easy fix that they can do.
dawgitall
I'm gonna take it by there tomorrow. Every thing seems to be in place correctly. Something is certainly causing some issues. Is a whisker biscuit a new breakfast sandwich or something? lol

I shoot a lot of 3-D and indoor and I've had two of them before and couldn't get consistent enough flight with the rest. I don't like how certain arrows sound going across the brush part of the rest. The ones I use there is noise when you pull the bow back.
m gardner
Do you ever clean and lubricate your drop away rest? They do require some maintenance especially in dusty or moist environments. I use Rem-oil. Mark
dawgitall
Great question. No I have not ever lubed it. It still seems to be moving freely and the cord seems fine.

hutchies
Check the bolts on windage and elevation. More than likely it isn't that but best to rule it out. Draw the bow.............the arm should come up in the last 4 to 5 inches of the draw cycle. Make sure that when it comes up it is fully up not just part of the way. Sometimes if the serving above the cord is loose it will ride up causing the arm to not come up all the way. If it is coming up then more than likely I would bet that rest has an internal spring and the spring may have broke.
hutchies
BTW I'm guessing this drop away your talking about is a Schaffer. If so does it have the adjustable prongs that hold the arrow. A set screw may have come loose.

hutchies
Here is a pic of the Schaffer rest...................See the 2 screw on top of the prongs. Check to make sure they are tight and that they prongs are equal distance.
