Bowtech_archer07
Well, I told y'all I'd keep ya updated on how that interview went with Decatur PD. I got a letter today informing me that I did not score high enough to pass the oral interview portion of the hiring process. I know that I was extremely nervous and answered some questions poorly, but I was hoping my experience in public service as a volly FFF and being involved in a Law Enforcement Explorer Program would help offset that. I guess not. Kinda bummed out right now, but I guess that's the way it goes. Maybe this will end up working out for the better as I still have a semester left of college after this fall, graduating in the spring, hopefully I can find a couple of places to test and use this as a learning experience. Thank you all for your support through this process. I will keep you updated in the future when I test and and go through this process again. You guys are awesome! Thanks again;)

Casey
Like I told you before, they screwed up by not taking you in. Your a great guy and even though we haven't met yet, I can actually say we have became friends through the phone. They lost a great guy and you would have made a awesome police officer. Better luck next time. Remember this. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. This is a learning experience. You'll be more ready next time. redkneck
Don't sweat it. Most everyone here has blown an interview at one time or another. I remember once I was interviewing for an engineering job and the guy was looking at my resume and asked me how I had liked working in construction. I told him it was great and that I wasn't stuck in the same old boring place all the time like in a plant. Of course the job I was applying for was in a plant......DOH! I was the only guy he had called back for a second interview. He didnt call again!

PotashRLS
I know locally here that most of our young Law Enforcement men and women start out as Sheriff's Reserves or part-timers with small town PDs. They work hard to get that experience and patiently wait for the openings to come knowing they are accumulating the assets that a full-time position requires. The hours are crappy and on the weekends, but you'll probably be able to bowhunt during the week when everyone else is working;) Keep your chin up.
