highschool football?

Hunt or be Hunted

Stupid sport. Worst mistake of my life was playing. My kids will not play. I was good and played in college. My shoulders were ruined by that stupid sport. I have been in MMA now for 5 years and only 1 injury that was not serious. Hey Hunt I thought your guys were supermen?

I disagree, it's not a stupid sport, maybe you just weren't designed optimally for that application. I really enjoyed it and it helped pay for college at a private school. I have genetically bad shoulders, and football didn't tear me up, neither did rugby. (Wrestling may have wreaked a little havoc, but that's another story.)

HS football=good times and good memories.

I don't play anymore because I graduated last year, but my old team is off to a 3-0 start. Wins have been 27-0, 14-2(I think) and 49-7. The first 2 opponents are usually decent teams, but the third team hasn't won a game in like 3 seasons now. The only touchdown scored against us was after one of our safeties got a pick, but then fumbled it and the other team scooped and scored. Our D only lost one starter from last year, so they are playing very well this year. Our offense lost mainly just linemen, but our qb has missed 2 games now due to a hurt shoulder, and our runningback hasn't played a full game yet because of a high ankle sprain. Both are all-state caliber players. I can't wait to see some games when they are both back and healthy. Should be a good season, and possibly another state championship run like my junior year! I love high school football.

I follow HS football in Florida. My team, Apopka, went to Mississippi last year and played one of the big dogs. We lost but we were willing to line up against 3 time champ Panola.

We are loaded this year with a defense full of seniors and an offense that has a drop back passer, 2 or 3 skat backs and a bruiser of a full back.

As always in Florida the championship runs through some Miami team. There is just so much talent down there it is sick. Next time you hear a college football roster I'd be shocked if there wasn't a couple kids out of S. Florida.

Well my sons team has not done well since the newest coach took over. (1 win in 12 games). Lost 0-43 last week.

They put my son (a LB) at nose guard (170lbs against 250 plus centers and sometimes double teamed). However even in the debacle last week my son was a bright spot. He had 5th most tackles ever at the school in one game. 23 tackles and a fumble recovery.

I love watching them play but love high school wrestling more

Since we are still on the topic, I thought I'd tell you all a thing or two about Reitz football. Going into the game last night, we were 11-0 and ranked #4 in Indiana's class 4A(2nd biggest class). The team we were playing in the sectional championship was also 11-0 and ranked #3 in class 4A. 2 years ago, when we won state, we beat that team like 35-14 or something along those lines. Last year, they beat us 38-35 in a nailbiter. Anyway, they were supposed to be a way better team this year than last and came down to the Reitz Bowl for another round! We got the opening kickoff and scored in 29 seconds. They got the ball back and went 3 and out. You could say that was how the whole game went. Reitz won 42-6 giving them a 12-0 record. Theres 3 more weeks of playoffs but next weekend will be my last chance to see my old team play this year.

man we were so un-lucky in the playoffs, the guys that we played with last year, we played them this year last year we lost to them and this year we lost to them. there just to good of a team for us i guess. all i know is we are out of the playoffs now, first game last year we were out and first game this year we are out...... so maybe next year will be better. i'm just glad we made it to the playoffs.
