Quacker-Wacker
I shot my AM 32 through the chrony yesterday and it read 266m fps. Bow is set at 66lbs, DL 28.5, total arrow weight is 435gr, and nothing on the string except D loop. Does that sound about right? I thought this seemed a little slow. I was thinking it would be near 275 to 280 fps. What do you think?
MichiganHunter
what rest are you shooting....if it's a biscut, that could be close
Randy
I'm not for sure what my arrows weigh but, I'm shooting 63# with carbon express maxima 250's with 100 gr. heads and hitting 272 fps. 266 is plenty fast to bust a couple lungs! hutchies
That actually sounds pretty close. You have to factor in to what is on your string. More weight on string the slower it will be

You could easily use a Maxima 350 and get around 272 to
peteski
Slow compared to a bullet.
Ethan Givan
Slow compared to a bullet. No way...really?? Never would have guessed. That sounds about right to me too. Im shooting about the same setup with a lighter arrow and Im getting about 273 fps.
ShortDraw
Alpha Max Base IBO= 321fps Deduction for drawlength= 15 fps Arrow weight deduction= 26 fps Deduction for Draw Weight= 8 fps Ending Speed = 272fps ... I think your right about dead on considering string weight as well. this website is really useful too. http://www.backcountrybowhunting.com/articles/tools.php
fly
Maybe a few fps slow, but nothing to worry about if you ask me as long as you're hitting what you're aiming for.
