Dakota
Well, I'm going to get pics up as soon as I possibly can but, depending on if Jana's camera/port is compatible with Rilda's computer or not, it may take a while. Okay, so the buck slowly walks along the hillside on the back of the Church of the Nazerine. I follow him, calling Steve, who just happens to be in the area. Steve arrives just as I'm debating on taking a second shot on the buck. I decided against it due to the fact that if I missed the arrow would sail into a high-fenced back yard. With Steve's arrival the buck spooks and runs down the hill, deciding to bed in the front yard of the closest house. Steve and I both know he's hit hard, but Steve needs to get to an appointment and we decided that I would call the rest of the crew and walk back and get Steve's Jeep that I was using for the day. I first decided to knock on the landowner's door and, when he answered the door, I told him buck down and thanked him profusely for the opportunity. Then I got in the Jeep and drove around the block (weird to say I know...) to where I had last seen the buck. A big red spot was all that marked where the buck had laid in that front yard and I spotted him crashed in the vacant lot over. While he may have been down and unable to get to his feet, this buck was not about to give up on life and I ended up shooting another Rage 2 into his spine at 20 yards. After a few minutes he still wouldn't die so I shot another, this time a Rage 3, at 10 yards below his spine and into the vitals. That still didn't do the trick and a few minutes later I placed my last Rage 2 into his chest cavity at 3 yards. He was out 30 seconds later. A few mintes later the HCO crew arrived. We got some awesome pics and met some real friendly folks checking up on us from the Sheriff's department and Game Fish and Parks! :D:D Everything was good and legal and we were good to go! Man, what a hunt! Dakota
