Muleyman
Hi. Me, my Dad, and my brother are planning on going black bear hunting in northern Saskatchewan this spring. I am using the 85 grain G5 montecs and shooting 45 pounds. I was just wondering if they would take down a black bear good enough. If not, what would any of you recommend? Swamphunter
Although any well placed shot at that weight would probably kill a black bear... I would be worried about hitting the shoulder plate and not getting enough penetration. I hunted northern Sask for bears in 2007 and shot 70lbs @ 277 fps, with 100gr broadheads on my GT 55/75 cut at 29"
