I shoot a mathews switchback, i've had it for 4 years now, and have had to put three different strings on it,, right at the bottom of my limb where the string hits the stopper it tends to rip up my serving. Its always done in and i got to looking at it and i think my metal bar that holds the string stopper actualy hits the string,, it lookes way bent in compared to the top one,, but i've never dropped it to have it be bent like that?? so i wonder if its just a defect or not im going into the shop tomorrow to see what they think. The only reason i wonder is because if it was bent i would think they would have seen it when they retied the serving,, hav any of you heard of this??

i have the switchback too, and all I can say is that it's awesome. it shoots great for me, it's fast, and it's nice and quiet. somehow yours has gotten bent, if you didn't drop it, maybe climbing into and out of your tree stand it has gotten banged up a little. i have had my switchback for almost 3 years now and it still has it's first string on it and it's still in really good shape. if i were you, i would try and bend the metal bar that holds the bottom stopper so that it doesn't touch the string when you release it. just make sure that the string still hits the stopper, or things will really start to get screwed up. GOOD LUCK!

I definitely wouldn't try to bend it back yourself. :hammer1:

I have had my Switchback for almost 4 years now, I have never had this problem. If you are the original owner and it is indeed bent, then Mathews will take care of it. How far off is it? have any pics of it?

I'm haven't tried adjusting the stoppers. Guys that know can you loosen those bolts and move them out just a hair?

My best guess if it's not hitting that arm would be that you are getting string stretch which is lengthening your ATA and shortening your brace height and causing the string to rest on the stoppers alot more than it should.

I shoot a 05 Switchback and mine doesn't look anything like that...

I had mine blow up on me when I got it...

It was caused by the QCC cutting the loop on the cable which made it go BLAM-O...

The dealer replaced it with a new bow...

I would get it to a shop and have it fixed...

It sure doesn't look right...That's for sure...

Griz...

Here is a photo of my switchback. I would definitely say they look very different. I would go to a pro shop or send it back to matthews or the store that you bought the bow at.

good luck to all

This picture can kind of be miss leading because this is a picture of the idler supressor not the the cam supressor. The idler supressor is longer and has more of a gap between the arm and string than the cam side does. I will agree it looks too close and that is where the wear on the serving is coming from. Could be a number of things just guessing. Bent cam, too much idler lean, arm bent or possible too much play in the mounting holes for the arm, twisted limb, etc. Take it to a good shop and have them look at it is your best choice. Mathews dealer will take care of you.
