RJF
I have had my permit for 3 years now but still managed with my bow (dont wanna give it up). I was target shooting last week on my 3rd shot something in my hand tore. So Im looking into picking a a decent crossbow around 520 bucks out the door. Basspro has the horton realtree hd 175 with the 4 by 32 scope for 499 im thinking of picking it up but wasnt shure what people had to say about them. Thanks
Tom2008
I personally do not like Hortons crossbow line at all. Check into a Barnett. You won't be disappointed.
hammerforged
I've been hunting with a Horton for 12 years now and have not had any problems. I have the Hunter 175 in Realtree HD. My youngest daughter uses the Horton Scout in 150 and my son-in-law to be has an older Hunter 175. My hunting partner uses the Legend 175. swohiodave
I have on older horten that brought down its share of deer when I was younger. Still have it and it shoots straight when I get it out.

jesse8953
Everyone I know uses a horton and no one has had any problems.I had a Barnett Demond when I was 14 [21 years ago] and it was a piece of junk!It would not hold a paper plate for a pattern.I am sure that Barnett has better quality now, but I only give a company and there hunting equipment 1 chance and Barnett had there chance.I have a Horton 150 Explorer, stepson has a Horton 150 Yukon, brother has a Horton 175 Legend and many friends have the Horton 175 Legend.I'll stick to my Horton but there are lots of great crossbows out there. If you can go and see what you like at bass pro, gander mt.,cabelas,or any hunting shop that sells crossbows. RJF
Well took the plunge and ordered it. In my mind I was fighting with spending all my money I saved back for hunting stuff on it but why sit in the tree all day to blow the shot because of my hand

Norm Sauceman
Have hunted with only Horton crossbows for the past 10 years. Never had a problem with them but my neighbors Barnet crossbow new out of the box had to be sent back to the manufacturer two times within a month. He finally sent it back and told them to keep it! Never did hear what happened after that but he now has a Horton and has loved it for the past three years. I can't personally speak on any other brands because I have not personally used them. johnf
I've got a Horton and with the 4x scope I can it a postage stamp at 30 yards. Haven't killed many deer with it, but have had complete pass throughs on all of them using mechanicals.
