Lest we forget

I will never forget!!!

I think of that day and the people often. The people that died, the heroic people that saved many lives, and the people that caused such meaningless destruction and sorrow. I pray for our dead countrymen and their families and I pray that someday we will no longer have to live in a world where radical extremists are trying at every chance they can to commit similar acts against our wonderful nation. God Bless America!!!

I'm not sure if this happens to anyone else but if I glance at a clock and the time is 9:11, I always seem to stop and reflect. I can remember that day as if it happened yesterday. Prayers to all of the families who lost a loved one.

Ditto, great thread Ken! We will always remember the fallen people and the soliders who gave their lives for our freedom.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I'll never forget how crystal clear it was that day. The sky seemed bluer, and not an airplane in the sky.

That's odd that you say that... 8 years ago I was taking my morning walk to school at this time. I will never forget looking up at how pretty the sky was that morning. It was the first morning that i "felt fall" coming. It was less than an hour after when we received the news at school.... all we did that day was watch the news channels.

It's sad to see that hardly anyone remembers that day... The Steelers Titans game did take a moment to remember last night.

"Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve."

"The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists."

America is "forgetting" way too soon!

Most Americans don't think about the brave servicemen and women who are out there every day of the week protecting them!

It is really sad!

I agree Orlan. Folks these days forget way too fast. They don't seem to care about tomorrow and just live for today. It's sad indeed.

I remember that day, crystal clear...I WILL NEVER FORGET....Was listening to Mancow on the radio while working for the city...we were at a red light when the first plane hit...My first thought, being the young 21 year old naive person i was, was that someone screwed up bigtime...i specifically remember saying "someones getting fired" thinking that someone from air traffic control had messed up in a big way...Then a voice from the car next to us, this guy says, "What the heck is going on"...the look on his face said it all, and thats when i actually got a grip on what was going on, thats when i knew we were under attack, but little did i know how much it was going to change my life and everyone elses life forever.

There was such an earie feeling in the air that day...very very quiet, no wind, no planes in the sky, and people wandering around aimlessly...For once, strangers were no longer strangers, and we all felt this on a personal level, we were all brothers and sisters that day...

sadly, i think too many have forgotten...

Remember seeing what the gas stations were like that day?Every gas station in my town was jam packed with cars...People filling up every gas can they had, it was like the end of the world was coming.

Sadly, the unity i felt that day with every other American has slowly washed away...I too think many have forgotten.

Prayers to all of our fallen warriors who sacrificed their lives for others and for this country. You are not a Firefighter, or a Police Officer, or a Soldier...You are our Heros...

I am proud to be an American...

God Bless

I think it was a defining moment that everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing. But as was mentioned, I'm afraid too many have forgotten the significance of that day. I also fear this country will come under attack in our lifetime that will make that day look negligible. I pray that I'm wrong on that, but the proliferation of weapons seems to be unlimited these days. Thank god for the second ammendment folks.
