Stinger-Hunter
I have not done this - just to set the record straight. However, my fantasy coyote hunt is to put a rabbit on a tether - make some injured rabbit calls and then wait for my large furry and mange friend to show up. I don't even know if that is legal - I'm sure it isn't, but I bet it would work.

Adjam5
Check your states DNR about using live game for bait. Get an old wig,or animal skin; some fishing line and a spring. Wiggle it a little with some calling and that should get a yote up running.

oneshot
In IL ur are not allowed to bait coyotes with anything u have bout or paid for now u can bait with road kill such as skunk posseum deer ect . Hey Southern, would you please explain this further. What do you mean you can't bait coyote with anything you've bought or paid for????? As for using road kill, you better check the state laws again, someone has misinformed you. You can "not" just take an animal off the road and use it for bait. It has to be taken by legal methods determined by the state and those methods are listed in the state regulations. A road kill deer is a different story than other animals. Adjam5
A deer gut pile has always been a good place for predators to show up. Bait without baiting .

Hoosierbuck
I salted the hides off a couple bunnies and use a clothes pin to hang them off a stick that bends under the weight, and dances in the breeze. By the time the coyote figures out that it is not an animal in distress, he either has lead poisioning or is lucky I am not the world's best shot.
