sureshot
tired is not the word, exhausted times twenty sounds more like it!!Been only 2 weeks into the season and I am totally pooped!!! well over 100 hours in the bush so far, plus over 80 at work, I can not figure out how come the hills are growing so much every year, this year they are at least 10 % bigger than last year,Have not checked the scale but am sure I have lost over 10 pounds of the summer beer and pizza I accumulated,Not complaining, am seeing quit a few deer and I have lowered my standerds a bit, I had a 170 class mule in full velvet last night at 33 yards only prob he was on a sharp quartering away looking back at me, if it was morning he would of had a arrow but with the sun just setting I waited for a side shot he never gave, I just did not want to track a one lung shot deer after dark in the thick bush and leaving him over night would of meant rotten meat in the 85 degree weather or a full pack of coyotes with full bellies! tonight I was abck in the pasture checking a few hot spots were the big boy hangs out and as I crested a hill just leaving the truck I spot antler tips in the field not combined yet, I hit the ground, crawled, calmed down nearly having a heart attack, got on my knees and ranged the tips at 31 yards, stood up as I drew and let off, I could not see the bodies in the tall derrum wheat, I seen a strip about 18 inches were a tube must of been plugged and they were headed there, I crawled and sat in wait, they headed toward and stopped, now 38 yeards or so, then the big boy decides he is gay and tried to jump the big 4 by 5, I tried to draw and get the pin on him but the 4 by 5 would have no part of it, I just had to watch them walk away, I left the field not bugging them, hoping I will have a shot tomorrow, been 4 days since I seen him and glad he is back in the pasture!!gets very frusterating when so tired, wife tells me to take a few nights off, but she knows there is no way, If i ever did that will haunt me for the rest of my life, that is the night I may of gotten a 250 inch critter!! i know some of you think I am a idiot like my wife does but that is the way I do things, its the reason I have the bucks I do, Iwill keep you posted on how I do,

Muleyman
Hey. That is what it takes to be a dedicated bowhunter. Bowhunting takes time before season looking for the right deer and a lot of time trying to find the right buck during the season and it takes time to get the stalk right. That just shows that you are a deticated bowhunter. Knowing you all that time will pay off and you will get a big one. We went out on the weekend but never had any luck. A doe walked into our blind, but it is still early. My brother just signed up, his name is Prairiepredator. Good Luck.
