bad, bad weekend....

Thursday my wife took her aunt to a Dr's appointment in Tulsa. She had her aunt, mom, and both of our little ones in the car.

They were about 100 yards from the drive when a fire truck stopped traffic. At that same time an old bird hopped up on perscription meds hit my wifes van doing 45mph. It pushed the van into the car in front of them.

The van is gone and we are having to fight her insurance company. They finally admited fault and a few things are starting to move but I am afraid there is going to be a fight.

We spent all day yesterday at the hospital. Everyone is ok but sore, thank the Lord. However, its far from over....

Ill try to update the squirrel teams later but for now I'm taking care of sore women. Sorry to keep everyone waiting on teams.

That stinks brother. I got hit buy a car doing 65 and I was stopped when I was 18. My back/neck have never been the same since. 3rd day is always the worst so make sure they get some pain meds and you might want to stay home. I couldn't get out bed the 3rd day.

I'll keep you guys in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

1st of all, glad your familie's ok as can be expected.

Secondly, I've been in that situation before. Expect the old bittys insurance company to put partial blame on your wife for following too closely to the car in front of her. Expect the same from the driver of the car she got pushed into.

Battling insurance companies is like being a piece of sheetrock trying to fend off a team of drywallers....eventually they find a way to screw ya.

Good luck and keep your attourney on speed dial.

Sorry to hear the bad news.

I hope everyone makes a full recovery. Do not cave to the insurance company, make them bring you guys whole again, that is why the old goat pays for insurance. If the accident was caused because of the driver being overly medicated I would say there is also a case there for gross negligence or reckless endangerment. People need to start taking more responsibility for their actions and start to feel the sting of severe consequences for making stupid decisions like getting behind the wheel when hopped up on drugs. If that happened to my family I would insist on a toxicology report on the driver that caused the accident or insist that the police report include that the driver that caused the accident was impared and I would be driving a brand new fully decked out vehicle of my choice after all is said and done.

Well said,Your insurance co.should take care of things and then go after the other person insurance co. That is what happened to me a couple years back when I was in a 4 car pile-up.Did anyone get a ticket? I did have to threaten allstate {insurance co. from the guy who hit me}with a lawyer before they would pay for my 4 wheeler trailer.Fighting with insurance co. takes a long time buy keep after it and you should be o.k. Good luck!
