bghunter777
I do not condone huge poundage bows for hunting. There are many reasons for this but thats beside the point. Just out of curiosity what draw weight are your bows set at im looking for the highest poundage here?
joeaveragehunter
Sorry to diappoint but my new reezen maxes at 70. And in november when your three hours in to a morning stand and the thermometer won't even hit 0 for a high, I don't think I could pull back an ounce more. buckee
Mine is set somewhere between 63 and 65#. I learned the hard way when I had the bow at 70# and my muscles just wouldn't work in the field. I was OK on the range, but after sitting all crapped up for a few hours, my muscles sang a different tune..LOL
ilhnter
Mathews Switchback XT 73 pounds!
ruttinbuc
Ya, what buckee said! I shoot 64# Might as well schedule your shoulder surgery while you are at it. Shooting anymore than 70 for any length of time will mess it up.
Griz
I'm with buckee on this one... I have my Switchback set at 65lbs... It works Great for me... Griz...

bloodtrails
Why u guys shootin' so heavy? I shoot 50# and kill with ease. Get a razor sharp broadhead and some accuracy and everything will come together.:death:
Tony
im shooting 62 right now on a 70 lb max bow. but i will never ever buy a 60 to 70 lb bow again. with todays tech on bows and arrow setups, my next one will be a 50 to 60. Jeramie
Im craned up to 70lbs. I could actually shoot a little less but a few years ago I didnt go through bone due to a 60lb pull. Since I moved back to a 70lb bow and im not looking back! When I first started I bought and Oneida with two sets of Limbs. I put the heavier of the two on because I thought I had to Man Up. I think they were 80lb limbs! No longer. I could still pull 80lbs but no thanks.
dawgitall
Switchback at 74 lbs.
Dakota
I shoot a 50-60lb. Monster but have it set at 53. I have to agree with Tony, with today's technology you don't need to pull the heaviest bow in the woods to effectively and ethically bow hunt. I also shoot a 46lb. longbow. :robot: Dakota
PotashRLS
82lb Hoyt Dynatec. Also does anyone remember aluminum arrows?..........I shoot those too.:clown:

Tecumseh
I'm quite happy with my reezen set at 65 lbs.
arrow32
All my bows are set on 57 pounds. Feels good and it kills the deer just as dead as 85 pounds. Tech is to good for me to be breaking my arm every time I shoot. Sure I can shoot 65 or 70 pounds but no need.

RUTNSTRUT
My Alien X is at 72 lbs,my Cardiac SD is at 64 lbs and maxed. I am getting another Alien X when the 2010's are out and hopefully I can get that one in 80lb draw. It gets old all of these people that say you don't need all that draw,or you will blow your shoulder out. I don't NEED big blocks in my trucks either,I WANT them. I have been shooting high poundage for years, with no ill effects. I hunt in some of the coldest weather around and have no problem drawing after sitting for hours. The bows I am hunting with this year are the lightest wieght draw I have used by 10lbs for close to 15 years.
GWSmith
I start out the season with my Bow set @70lbs By the end of the season it's down to 64lbs I've had 60lb limb bows and never liked the trajectory of the arrow. With a 70lb limb bow it is much flatter and more forgiving on yardage estimation errors IMHO.
