ALAN
ok guys i currentiy have a disability,, im a very slow learner..i want to learn deer hunting,, gone past few years but wasnt sure if i was doing it right etc...im looking for like a mentor/teacher to get me going to spend some time with me, probably some time at the gun range, and then some time in the deer woods to show me the ropes and guide me on a hunt or two. Or just let me tag along on one of your days out to show me the "proper" way to do things. its better for me to have someone show me rather then someone telling me here etc.. id like to find someone in my neck of the woods (fort dodge iowa) so i thought this would be a good place to start.. thanks
layin on the smackdown
sorry, can't help you here...sometimes the best teacher is experience. If you can't find someone to mentor you, take what you can from here as well as other places, apply it, and learn from your mistakes. You will never stop learning, the more you go, the more you will learn... Good luck. Dan
Adjam5
Keep swinging Alan. If there is a local archery shop or gun store around. Wander in there, and ask around. Some shops even have bulletin boards to post ads on. Even the Gander Mtn by me has a BB to post stuff on. This is a great place to learn EVERYTHING you need to know about the outdoors. I'd say this is the best board on the net. Subscribe to hunting magazines and watch the vids too. But there is no substitute for hands on experience. Good Luck. dawgitall
In the short time I've participated on this site I've found everyone to be very helpful with the heart of a teacher. Ask questions and be as specific as you can. Your confidence will build and results will come. Good Luck
