sureshot
you prob remember the mistake I made on sept 1 passing up a deer I thought was a 160 class and after taking pics realized it was a 32 inch 180 plus typ, I have spent at least 100 hours still hunting that pasture in the past 3 weeks trying to get him within 40 yards, I have seen him at least 10 times within 80 yards and a coupl of times in bow range but no shot chances, I have not spooked him if the wind is not right I leave him and let him walk over the hill, anyways tonight after a 2 mile hike around the [pasture I decided to check out a area that is off the beaten path and a place I never really think of mule deer, as I drove the trail I seen 3 deer off the road 1/2 mile or so, you can see antlers on the one, I drive as close as I can on the trail and walk in as I crawl over a crest I see a deer of my dreams at about 200 yards, it was getting dark but I could see kickers and stickers everywere, all I could do was watch him feed away if I only had another 1/2 hour there was a water run right to him I could of crawled to, I have no idea what he will score but what I could see was easilly 30 inches of crap prob more, if he has a decent typ frame we are looking at a 210 inch if a great frame he couldexeed that by alot, I do not care, this is only the second huge non typ I ever seen with many stickers, I think I have a new deer to hunt lol!!! owits time to try to sleep, just got off the phone from all the farmers around and no one seen him but I got the ok to hunt all around him for prob 5 miles, I have a feeling I will be tagged out this weekend!!!! hopefully soon this 75 miles of driving every night is getting EXPENSIVE!!!! sureshot
deffinatly not easy, I just spend so much time out there, plus with stalking for 25 years you figure out how to work the wind and terrain properly, the biggest thing is knowing the land and try to figure otu what they will do next, same thing with yote hunting, the more you know about the animal the better
