Tony
i know its old and not as modern as the many new ones, but my old Knight and hale EZ grunter plus is my go to call. i can make so many differant deer calls with that one call and it just seems to be the one i have the most faith in. for me i use a grunt call very litte in early season. about the 20th of oct i use it along with some light rattling. i usually do 3 grunts in a row and then wait 15 seconds then one more and draw it out a little. ill never forget the first buck i ever grunted in. i thought it was someone coming up the hill. i never thought a deer let alone a buck would make so much noise at 4 pm in the afternoon. but he came in all mad and in the mood for a fight, that i forgot to even get my bow. that day i learned a lot, i also learned be ready at anytime you blow the grunt. they can cme in a hurry and you have to be ready. MNcrittergittr
The True talker is my favorite. I've used quite a few different calls over the years and that's the one I miss the most if I forget it. I haven't used many of the newer ones that have come out, only because I 've never felt the need to. The True talker is my #1.
MNcrittergittr
Lol. Good lesson learned there! That reminds me of what happened to me one time. One frosty, silent November morning I started a small grunting sequence and about the third grunt in, all of a sudden I heard what sounded like someone rolling a truck down the ridge in front of me. One of the biggest, heaviest bucks I had ever seen came SCREAMING in! Kicking, digging, grunting and crashing through the woods like you can't believe, sticks, dirt and leaves are flying everywhere. He finally stopped at the edge of a trout creek that runs in front of my stand. The far side of the creek was just out of my comfortable bow range at the time, but this brute was looking for a fight for sure! I couldn't get him to cross the creek, but that was a rut experience I'll never forget, very cool! dbHunterNY
I really like the Primos Buck Roar. I like the band feature for your arm too. Keeps it close but out of the way.
Stinger-Hunter
The Can has worked for me on several occasions - I've never, to-date, called in a buck with a grunt tube. I've used them, but never with a grunt - one 6 pointer with The Can and several does with The Can, though.
PotashRLS
I love the True Talker I also know many people who have had success with the can.
backwoods07
I like the newer Primos grunt/snort wheez combo. If you're talking about the buck roar, I use the same one. I teased a spike last year for about 15 minutes with it. Works great and I love the arm strap.
