TIM CAME REALLY CLOSE!!!!! Tim just called and was a little out of breath; poor guy just hiked all the way to a hill top to send us an update and even then standing still he kept having to call back from poor reception. He was setup in an oak grove behind a field on a trail that deer have taking to walk right by him. A 140 class 10 pointer came out of the brush checking the wind a 100 yards out. It was taking it's time but on string; headed on the same trail right to Tim!!!! Well it's hunting and nothing is a done deal. The land owner and a rancher happened to show up in the distance on a bobcat UTV and the shooter buck took off! Tim never got a chance. Bob (outfitter) did tell the owner who was back for the weekend to stay out of some areas, because he had a hunter out there. The owner did stay out of where he was told, but Tim happened to be in the oak grove. It was just one of those "wrong place at the wrong time" kind of deals.

They've got a good spot for this afternoon, if nothing happens until then. Bob saw not one but 3 shooters out in the field at the afternoon stand. Tim's more frustrated, but he still sounds pretty determined to put one on the ground. He was breaking up but I think he said tomorrow was his last full day of hunting.

Well the afternoon was almost a carbon copy of the morning...except a different landowner was involved moving a trash pile right at prime time as the deer were coming acrossed the field!

So Tim decided to stay put and said to himself that the deer will come back out. The landowner who had caused the commotion earlier had moved to the other side and bumped the deer back Tims way but only Does, Fawns, and smaller Bucks.

So the deer are out in the field then suddenly they all start running away as 2 Coyotes come out and spook them off.

Tim still decides to stay put for awhile and when he starts getting down he turns to see a big Coyote coming his way.

He said to himself "I've had enough of this and Buddy your now on my hit-list".

As the Coyote gets closer Tim is reaching for his Bow and bumps his Bino's...the branch breaks...the Bino's go tumbling down the tree trunk to the ground. When they hit the Coyote is only 25 yards away and when he hears the noise of the Bino's he actually stops and Growls!!!

Tim said it was something he had never had happen to him before and he thought it was pretty cool.

We talked for a little while longer and I gave him my prediction of "Something" happening right at 8:11am His time zone....so we'll see;)

He's got all day tommorrow and the morning after..then it's off to the airport.

So then he sends me this video to end the day....

(I think it's his way of saying "There's still alot of great things happening here too)

No Luck this Morning...Windy 30mph with gusts over 50mph.

8 Does this morning so the action was a little slow. I think I found a Mountain Lion Kill walking out this morning so that does'nt help

I hope you read these Tim when you get back and try to remember how you felt just before you tagged out on a Big Buck in the afternoon!

Well I got a couple self explainatory texts from Tim earlier so here they are...

Well it happened again...

4:45PM a Rancher shows up and Clears the Field.

There were 2 shooters in it too!!!

I called my guy and he got them out but the field is empty..

Thoroughly Disgusted...To have 2 shooters in the field under 100yds and then lose them and with yesterday too....Also been sitting in the rain since 3:30pm

Just got off the phone with Tim...and I typed it as he wanted me to...

I just wanted to let everyone know that the outfitter has done everything he could. Bob is a standup guy and a true gentleman. Bob was reaching for his checkbook to pay me back but he's not to blame for this and it's just the way things turn out sometimes. The landowner has no clue about hunting and is on vacation here from Alaska. It's the first time in 10 years that the landowner has even been here! I'll be back next year because over the years Bob has become a friend and not just an outfitter. This is a quality operation and with the Big Bucks I've seen I'd be crazy not to return and take one. The odds are swinging in my favor to get one of these Monster Bucks so you better believe I'll be back here.

That really is the pitts. How frustrating. It reminds me of when we hunt down on the farm, and sit there for 3 hours only to have someone walk their dogs along the bushline just when the deer should be coming out.

A lot of mixed feeling there for sure.:(:(:(

So close and yet, so far
