Broadheads For Black bear??

G5 montecs are nice broadheads. I know a few guys that love them. I'm a muzzy man, I've shot all kinds of muzzy broadheads and prefer the 4 blades. Recently I started shooting the muzzy mx-4's, and love them! They are my new favorite.

I don't have a lot of experience hunting with broadheads under 100 gr, but a few seasons ago my buddy's little brother shot his first bear with a bow, he was shooting a 100 gr 4 blade muzzy at 50 pounds. He took a nice quartering away shot and the arrow stuck in the far shoulder. It wasn't a complete pass through, but a definitely well placed, good killing shot.

I think at 45-60lbs a good cut on impact head will yield the penetration you want on a bear. I personally would not shoot a bear with a chisel type head behind a 45lb bow. It would probably work just fine, but there others out there that I would prefer over it. Bears are nutorious for being bad bleeders so perfect shot placement doesn't always give a lot of blood on the ground. Make sure your bow/arrow/broadhead combination is enough for these tough critters.

Your Setup wull definately work for yah... just put the arrow where it needs to be and listen for the death moan!!

Agreed, i used those broadheads on my bearhunt, but just to pass along what i was told from the folks at G5 since most bear shots are not over 40 yards, they recommend the striker magnums, there razor sharp and have a 1.5 inch cutting diameter,

I was just to cheap to buy new ones lol btw the new tekans are sweeet
