WestKyTeacher
Had to edit and lower writing due to advertisement covering it. Looking at my aerial and topo maps where do you think I should put deer stands to hunt? Looking at the maps North is up. The land is outlined by the black or red square and my house is located at the x on the topo map. You can see a food plot about 30' wide running down through the land. The 2nd topo is just zoomed out more so you can see more of the surrondings. Thanks for any help! Nickel
Find the most deer sign and best used trails and start there.
woolybear
I was thinking right at the top right corner of your propperty boundary between the grass and beans. Looks like the elevation changes and cover would support some good afternoon and morning cover for them to make it to and from the beds. WestKyTeacher
Is there anyone else that can read topo makes and know where the best places are to put stands according to how deer would use the land? I leased the land and want to help them with the best stand placement and chances of getting a deer. Any other advice would be welcome. sluggunner
North East side About a third of the way down next to that long strip of bean field where it dog leggs in towards your property.
ruttinbuc
I 'd hang a stand 1/2 way down the right side at the first elevation change overlooking that water. I'd also have something above the little pond along the road to the south. I'd also cover that corner in the NW corner. Doesn't look like much but then that is where you might least expect them. Don't ignore the droppings anywhere on the property.
