scooter0129
I just returned from a early season deer hunt in Meadow Lake Saskachewan with DELORME OUTFITTERS. Please heed this warning and avoid this outfitter. The owner Leon Delorme a native indian is not stable and will throw you out if your not happy with what they do there. It starts with guides that have no clue and are just taxi drivers. They were late to pick us up every day including getting in our stands after sun up, walking out of stands at 11am to meet them as they requested and them not showing up till 12:45. Taking me on a 2 hour ride into the bush to call for moose and elk and realizing they have no gas and having to turn around without ever hunting. Driving out to a stand and finding another hunter already there. Then you must be carefull what you say at the lodge as it is his motherinlaws house. She sits in her room in the back and listens to everything you say and then tells the owner Leon. Upon telling the rest of our guys we booked a earlier flight the next day we were hostily woken up at 5am to a crazy owner yelling at us threatening to kill us and taking a swing at me while we were still in bed. Normally we would have kick the **** out of him but wiser minds thought about where we were on an indian reservation in canada, who knows who was down stairs or waiting for us out side so we just left and caught an ealier flight. PPPLLLEEEAAAASSSEEEE do not book a hunt at DELORME OUTFITTERS MEADOW LAKE SAKACHEWAN

sureshot
sorry to hear of your terrable trip to sask!! I wuld always be scared to hunt in a place that is not with a outfitter association and most Indian reserve hunts are not!! Unless I knew someone who hunted there or knew someone involved I would have to pass!!

Swamphunter
I appreciate the heads up... but always take first time posters that bad mouth an outfitter with a grain of salt. Atleast til they have been around for a bit... sorry... I am just suspicious in nature
m gardner
You can post it on www.bowsite.com and they will give the outfitter a chance to respond which is only fair. Mark
AceArcher
Threatening to kill you b/c you took an earlier flight? That doesn't make any sense at all. Couldn't find this guy on the web but it would be interesting to hear his side of the story. I know my buddy went to an indian reservation in Canada and he said the indians just drop you off and pick up. But it is also $700 bucks for a big skat bucks were his whole party tagged out. Maybe your exptectations were off of what you were paying for.
Stinger-Hunter
that is either the absolute truth or a way overdone outfitter bashing. I'll have to go with the former, good details.
Prairiepredator
I live in Saskatchewan and I know that Meadow Lake area has alot of Indian reserves, so you kind of have to be careful. I know there are way better outfitters here in sask.

superguide
Sureshot your about the only guy might have a chance squaring off with him-Leon is a pretty tough old hockey player. No first hand experience but things could get a bit western. I guess with any utfitter might not hurt to do some prehunt research.
AceArcher
If it is the same guy as the hockey Leon Delorme then he seems to be pretty nuts. There are vidoes all over youtube of him getting absolutly worked in hockey fights.

Mary
Warning Outfitters Hi. I'm the motherinlaw. These gentleman stayed in our 5000 sq. ft. log hunting lodge. These two gentleman complained from the time they walked into the lodge. I can't comment on their hunting experience I'm sure the other gentleman found the lodge and food great. As far as sitting in the back room listening, I actually watch TV trying not to listen to the negativity from people such as yourselves. We've had your kind before. A word to any other hunting lodges. PPPLLLEEEAAASSSEEEE be prepared for a lot of whining an complaining should you lodge these gentleman.

Texan_Til_I_Die
Hummm, haven't I seen this somewhere before? Party A joins forum and complains publicly about Party B. Party B the joins same forum and completely contradicts Party A. On how many other forums is this argument being waged? Do we need to alert Swampy? :ban:

Mary
This is the wife of Leon Delorme, and I would like to say that my husband runs a first class business, but when a hunter comes to an indian reservation to hunt and then begins to threaten our guides, telling them "You better shut the *** up you stupid indian" when he picks him up and asks how the hunt went ",among other very racist remarks, my husband has every right to send them home. This man and his friend came to my families lodge and disrespected my mother, who cooked for them, made rude comments about their home, which like she said is a 5000sq ft. log home and my husband couldn't do anything from the beginning to make him happy. We knew he would leave with hard feelings but we would never bring this hunter back for any price. Warning to any outfitters about Scott Leonescu, you will never make him happy, he is very racist and is just angry that someone stood up to him....You probably thought you could bully my husband around but he will not let someone speak to his guides that way..He is not a stupid indian... need2hunt
Well this has run it's course as far as I'm concerned. I wasn't there and I'm not going to make any claims as who is right and who is wrong, all I know is that both parties have had the opportunity to say their side and that's where I'm leaving it. I am now locking this thread - I'm trying to be fair about this but will also let both parties know I'm not going to play games here - either one of you wanting to start this topic back up in my part of the forums will be finding their posts deleted and themselves banned from the forums. If anyone has an issue with that they can feel free to pm me to discuss. Thank you, G
