I just returned from a early season deer hunt in Meadow Lake Saskachewan with DELORME OUTFITTERS. Please heed this warning and avoid this outfitter. The owner Leon Delorme a native indian is not stable and will throw you out if your not happy with what they do there. It starts with guides that have no clue and are just taxi drivers. They were late to pick us up every day including getting in our stands after sun up, walking out of stands at 11am to meet them as they requested and them not showing up till 12:45. Taking me on a 2 hour ride into the bush to call for moose and elk and realizing they have no gas and having to turn around without ever hunting. Driving out to a stand and finding another hunter already there. Then you must be carefull what you say at the lodge as it is his motherinlaws house. She sits in her room in the back and listens to everything you say and then tells the owner Leon. Upon telling the rest of our guys we booked a earlier flight the next day we were hostily woken up at 5am to a crazy owner yelling at us threatening to kill us and taking a swing at me while we were still in bed. Normally we would have kick the **** out of him but wiser minds thought about where we were on an indian reservation in canada, who knows who was down stairs or waiting for us out side so we just left and caught an ealier flight. PPPLLLEEEAAAASSSEEEE do not book a hunt at DELORME OUTFITTERS MEADOW LAKE SAKACHEWAN

I would like to said that I had the same experience a few years back I can believe they still back to the old tricks Leo dads is a gentleman but his son must have a concussion in his head also heavy in drugs and alcohol this hunt was the only hunt ever that I had fear for my life and my friend is this hunt a hunter from Georgia shot a deer down the road when leo dad was going to check on him the bullet when thru the buck and continious down the road hit the windshield of the truck and thru the guy face and right ear I saw the truck pass my stand before all this happen then I saw the truck flying back with blood all over the windshield and the hole in it I was left in my box to 10;00 pm I almost freze to death before than a couple of day Leo demand $1000 trophy fee from my friend for the second buck but the contract said two bucks not trophy fee he said you were hunting in another reservation at this time it looks that we are going to be attack by Leo and his two hunting guides but thanks god Leo Sr show up and some how stop the fight my friend left that day I stay behind for 3 more days didn't get a deer but I was glad the I was able to get home if you search the web there more terrible story about this place

A decade old post comes to life! LOL I see that I posted that DIY hunts were the only way to go for me back in 2009. Well, I changed my mind in 2018 and went on a bear hunt with an outfitter recommended by Tim Andrus. The active members on here saw the results of that experience. I have changed from NEVER again to requiring reputable references from multiple people or someone I trust before booking with an outfitter.

Good seeing some of the old members profiles again.

Ummm yeah, it was locked by Gary for a reason.  Unfortunately this one like many other threads were unlocked or soft deleted spam threads that were no longer deleted in the merge from old forums to the current.  Took some digging for the new user to find this one.

Original poster and one other was banned, see no reason to let it go, so will lock it up again.
