hunterbobb
I'm sure this has probably been done before but why doesn't evryone take a few minutes and tell everyone about your favorite rifle. Mine is a Remington 700 BDL with a Belland Carlson camoflaged stock. It is chambered in 270 Win. It has been piller bedded the action has been blue printed and the trigger has been worked to a crisp clean 3.5 lbs. It wears a Leupold VX II in 3 X 9 - 40. It will shoot dime size groups all day long with my handloads. I love it more than my wife. :gun2: Edited September 27, 2009 by hunterbobb
plannerman
Understand the feeling...and guess your wife doesn't read/know your handle here in the forum!!!
m gardner
I have a 270 winchester in a Browning A-Bolt. It has worn two scopes so far. The first died prematurely. A Leupold. It wears a Bushnell Elite now. It has killed it's fair share of game including deer, elk and prarie dogs at some longish ranges. I've shot a ton of rabbits with squib loads too. I intend to do grevious bodily harm to a bull elk soon with it. This poor rifle has been through the trials and tribulations of he!! and looks like it. It's only 6 years old. Still an MOA rifle with 2 of my favorite loads. I love my wife more though. (if I didn't say that she'd shoot me in the a$$ with her TC Contender rifle!):chair: Mark
coles
Mine is probably my Ruger M77 Hawkeye 270 with the Hogue olive drab Green Over Molded stock and stainless barrel/action. It wears a olive drab Burris Fullfield II Tactical 3-9x40 with ballistic plex reticle. It just simply looks awesome. here is a pic of it. hammerforged
Only one?!?!? Don't know as I could pick only one favorite. Gotta go with Strut on this one. Would be tough to decide on only one.
wtnhunt
Sorry, cannot pick just one. Favorite rifle for hunting has been my model 700 adl in .270. Killed quite a few deer with that rifle, proven time and again to be reliable and plenty accurate enough for hunting these swamps and hills. Favorite that I have not YET hunted with is this one. My browning A bolt white gold medallion in 7 mm mag. This one may be going out west with me next fall to hunt mulies and antelope if we can somehow fit it in our budget. hunterbobb
Gotta go with Strut on this one. Would be tough to decide on only one. Come on guys give it a try. What if I narrow it down to favorite deer Rifle.
doubleA
I treat firearms like my children, I play no favorites. They all have strong and weak points and are equal in my eyes.
bluelund79
For the time being it is my Tikka T3 Hunter in 25.06. It wears a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5x14x40. I shoots the best groups out of my rifles, mild in recoil and prints POI with 2 types of factory Hornady ammo. I still love my other rifles, but for the time being its the gun I reach for first. dbHunterNY
I only have a firearm for each purpose. My favorite rifle is not my deer rifle. It's the Savage Model 12 .223 cal with laminate wood thumbhole stock and stainless steel fluted heavy barrel. I have a Buckmaster Varmint 6-18x40mm scope on it. The combo shoots factory remanufactured Black Hills ammo loaded with 60gr Hornady Vmax bullets into sub 1" groups at not 100 but 200 yards. I like the feel of the thumbhole stock and Accu-trigger. I have absolute confidence when it's in my hands. Deer rifle - I have a Remington 742 Woodsmaster in 30-06 with a Bushnell Elite 3200 scope which I like, however it's not the favorite. I've had technical difficulties with it and it shoots minute of deer but that's about it. The favorite is a Browning A-Bolt with walnut stock and stainless barrel also chambered in 30-06 with a Nikon 3-9x40mm scope. jokostel
Yeah, it's truly a difficult task to try and narrow a favorite down. I guess... IF I had to pare it down to JUST one rifle... It would be my Remington 700 Mountain LSS in 280 Rem. Strapped with leupold rings, and a Zeiss Conquest 3.5x10x44. She eats 140 cts like shes going outta style. quigleysharps4570
If I can only pick one it would have to be the little .40 caliber flintlock longrifle. It's about the only one that see's action anymore. Has a 42" Ed Rayle barrel, Siler lock, Davis triggers, walnut stock and the hardware is all browned. She's a shooter. Rem308
I'm torn between 2 rifles...each time I've gotten ready to decide I have swapped back. Let's just say it's my Remington 700 .308.
scottgray18
My favorite rifle would have to be my good old Remigton Game Master 760 chambered in .30-06. My dad gave it to me a couple of years ago because he had to quit hunting. I recently put a brand new Bsa Catseye scope. I shoot 165 grain noslers out of it and it makes for a deadly all around deer hunting load.
jesse8953
Funnest to shoot is my Springfeild M-14 M1A1.Deer rifle is between my Remington 700 .270 or the Remington 700 7mm mag.I have not deer hunted with the 7mm mag yet,but I'm going to try it out this year in Arkansas. Missed160
The ones I have carried the most are .270 & .06 A bolt. But my new favorite rifle is a Marlin 30 30 which my dad gave me. He never hunted deer much & bought this just to go with us. I put a Bausch & Lomb 1.5 x 6 scope on it & now love to carry it. Shots well enough out to 150 yards. redgreen
Ruger#1 in 270 weatherby magnum. 140 grain Hornady with 74 grains of IMR 7828 gives smoa and fantastic velocity.
bearcat
I would have to say my favorite deer rifle is also my oldest deer rifle. It is my Remington 700 BDL in 7mm Remington Magnum. I bought this rifle when I was 19 years old back in 1986. I have shot alot of deer with this old friend. Alot of these deer have been big bucks. I put a Leupold Vari-Xll 2x7x33 on it when it was new. After 23 years of service, the lense coatings have wore off. I have since put a Burris Fullfield ll 3x9x40 with ballistic plex reticle on my old friend. Leupold told me to send my old scope to them and they would either repair or replace it for me. I may have to reunite these two in the near future. By the way my second favorite is my Remington 700 BDL SS 30-06. These two rifles are the ones that I reach for more than any others.
Tecumseh
My marlin 444P guide gun,This thing is a tack driver. At 100 yards it will put 4 hornady lever revolution's in the same hole.
wyohunter
i would have to say my 300 win mag, its a 1909 mauser argentine action, shilen barrel, timney trigger, elkridge stock , it has taken my 6x6 bull elk, a white tail buck, a mulie buck and just recently my pronghorn buck... my best shooter is my ruger #1 stainless in .204.... gives that one hole a work out :clown:
hungry hunter
Favorite, That would be my NEF .270, with Swift 3x9x40, but I am leaning towards my Savage FP LE 110 in .308 topped with Bushnell 3x9x40 variable.
Whitetail Freak Hunter
Mine is real simple and sweet to shoot. I bought a H&R Handi Rifle in 7mm-08 and topped it off with a nice Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40mm w/BDC redical. My ammo is the Federal Premium 140-gr Barnes Tripple Shock.
