257bob
I just purchased a Beretta 92FS and after cleaning it we took it out to shoot it. It only fired three times before jamming and then jammed almost every shot for the next eight rounds or so. First off the barrel says 9mm Parabellum and I purchased 9mm Luger cartridges, I am 99% percent positive this is the right ammunition, but a little reassurance would be nice. Also the round indicator is not working either, anybody with experience or knowledge on the subject thanks for your help in advance.
Hoosierbuck
Sounds like bad ammo, or limp-wristing the gun, maybe even both. Your ammo is the right chambering, so check that off. The chamber indicator is quite subtle, don't look at it, run your trigger finger over it. If it sticks up above flush, then it is indicating loaded. As high as production is running now, not very surprising that sub-par ammo is rolling off some lines some times. Be sure you are gripping the gun tight enough to allow the recoil mechanism to operate the action properly. After all that, well, sir, tap, slap and rack. Tap the bottom of the mag to ensure full seating, slap the slide by the ejection port to clear any stove-pipe jam, and rack the slide to chamber a fresh round. Valuable practice for failures in a semi-auto. HB
257bob
Thanks, HB I will definitely go over all the advice you gave me and see if I can remedy the problems. I did figure out the chambered round indicator though, it is definitely subtle.
