My favorite hunting gun is my ole 30/30 Marlin.

I call her old Betsy( on the right)

.

Anthony, just curious, what are those notches on the side of Betsy? looks like a lot of 1's and an 8 in there, but its hard to tell...

Nice ladies too by the way..

The only gun of mine that has a name is the 10 Gauge....and i refer to her as the Ten Banger....all the rest are what they are...i just refer to them as ladies.

The 1's are does, and the 8 of course is a 8pter(the best deer yet with that gun) and the 1's with the slash are small bucks. A forky and a spike.

That is what happens when you sit on stand and not seeing any deer, having a sharp knife. You start to carve up your gun...or at least that is what happened to me:clown:.

Before you ask... NO...I do NOT mark up my Mathews:D

I am trying to acquire from my buddy the gun next to Betsy...

It is a 1964 Marlin Marauder .35Rem with a 16 1/4"bbl

VERY RARE.

I don't think you can name a gun, it just has to sorta name itself.

I was on a big doe management hunt in South Texas several years ago and I took my 220 Swift with some jacked up handloads. Everyone else (think there was 7 or 8 of us) had their "regular" rifles - 270, 30-06, 7mag, etc. After I had dropped 8 does on 8 shots and none of them traveled more than a few feet, the landowner turned to me and said "That's a dandy little doe snatcher you got there." And that's been my Swift's name ever since - Doe Snatcher.
