redkneck
I got a new SQ32 last year and have really liked it. It's smooth and quiet. Killed 4 with it last season - 3 does and an 8, so it's been a winner so far.

I was supposed to be shooting my longbow this year, but apparently have been too lazy to do so. Maybe after I stick a couple with the compound I'll take it up a notch too. You ever took one with the Bear recurve Matt?
fly
Bear TRX from 2003. Have 11 harvests with it.

Not to sound cocky, but compound has just lost its challenge to me.

backwoods07
There's a ton of forum members shooting Instincts. There was a thread about this a while back. I should an Instinct at 70lbs 28.5 inch draw. I think I have 4 deer down with it, 3 coons, 8 or 9 chipmunks, and one or two squirrels. woolybear
I'll bet there ain't a one of you here that will not admit to it being one of the best $400 purchases you ever made with no regrets. I went to this bow out of a Hoyt V-tec and was not let down whatsoever at a fraction of the cost. Wish I had done that in the first place. Sorry Hoyt gang, I just tell it like it is.....for me anyhow. The thing handles like a charm and the short ATA is perfect for a ground pounder like myself. I'm sure some of our stand hunters can appreciate that aspect also in a tree that affords them cover to draw with some limitations of overall length. They are a good bow no matter what anyone tries to sell ya.

wesleycasey
I shoot a bear! i shoot a Fred Bear Lights Out I just bought it like a week ago....i love it ....70lb 29"draw length....im obsessed with the 30'' cam to cam i can actually shoot it sitting flat on my butt. its quiet out of the box but with a stabilizer and a few limb savers its like secret squirrel quiet....lol ....my first bow was a bear and i loved it, traded it in on a Ar-32 then sold the Ar over the summer and bought the lights out ....AWESOME choice and very inexpensive. Lilmissdangerous shoots a Badge, too. And the Mrs. shoots a Fred Bear Search.

PaBowhunter00
I shoot the Bear LightsOut. For the price/performance I couldn't have asked for a better bow. With the 30" ATA and 8" brace height, this bow is extremely forgiving for it's size. I haven't harvested a deer yet with a bow in the 13yrs I've been hunting, but I did smack one at 30yrds this year, but caught the shoulder and couldn't find the arrow or the deer. Very disheartening to say the least. Especially since last year I actually missed a 10pt with the same bow (2 man ladder stand with the shooting rest down, deer was 7 feet from my ladder and my cam smacked the shooting rail and I watched my arrow fly 1" over his back, and didn't have a chance for a second shot) What's funny is it's moments like this(even though i've only shot at 3 deer in 13 years), that keep me coming back. I always tell people, "I would sell my guns before I would sell my bow," and they always have a hard time of believing me. Makes me laugh. Dawg
I shoot the 06 Bear Instinct and I absolutley love it. No harvests with it yet but hopefully that will change tomorrow! Hey, we might have enough folks to start a "Bear Shooters Club", it'd give them Matthews and Hoyt guys something else to cry about! :clown: Edited October 9, 2009 by Dawg
