NiteRunner
How much would nearly ready to harvest soy beans affect arrow flight? The other night I had 2 bucks pass within 18-20 yards of me. I was on a field edge, they were in the soy beans. I opted not to shoot because they were small bucks. But had I taken the shot, do you think my arrow would have gone astray because of the beans? The top of the been stalks would have been almost to the top of their backs, plenty of vitals could still be seen.
backwoods07
Tough call. I personally don't think I'd take that chance, but I'm gonna leave this one alone for the other guys to answer.
jdavis
I've had tiny little twigs I never saw until after the shot throw my arrow way off. My thought is that if there are any obstructions between you and the deer then hold off on the shot. It's not worth the risk; I'd rather pass and hope I'll get another chance than end up with a wounded deer.
Tominator
I don't think I'd risk it. It doesn't take much to deflect an arrow.
woolybear
Think it may depend for me on how close the beans are to the deer and how thick. The last thing you want is for your nock end to cartwheel before impact. If my broadhead would reach vitals before the end of my shaft passed through the beans, I think I 'd be ok with the shot unless a better one could possably present itself. I guess it would be an in field judgement call for me at the time so hard to say for sure without being there.
MNcrittergittr
I'm with the other guys. I wouldn't risk it, it would be a big gamble, and if it goes wrong, it can go way wrong. If you don't have a clear shot, you don't a shot. Doesn't take much at all to deflect an arrow. Even taller, thicker grass can send an arrow off path. Hopefully you can find an open area, enough for a good shot. Good luck to ya!
Rhino
I don't think I'd risk it. It doesn't take much to deflect an arrow. Ditto...I've had stuff that was so small I missed seeing them until an arrow deflected off of them.
hunterwebb
the arrow cant touch a thing in flight
arrow32
I wouldn't shoot threw it. Way to much chance of it getting deflected. The littlest thing can send that arrow the wrong way.
