not a bad buck at all. i think he will score better than 120? possibly 130ish?

probably the toughest thing to do is watch bucks walk, when you know later in the season you would pull the trigger on them. it takes a lot of restraint to let them walk.

You are right with watching them walk. I have let many 120 and 130 bucks walk the last 2 years waiting on the 160+. I always end up shooting one smaller than I let pass at end of season. with 140 inch deer the biggest ive taken I long for that 160+. In Ohio we are only allowed one buck a season. A very wise man once told me "It's hard to kill a 160 inch deer when you have a 130 incher on the ground".

Trust me when I say I'm happy with this deer. it was just the second day of season and you always wonder "what if I had waited". :hammer1:

Well I got a little antsy and shot a buck that I thought was bigger. Dont get me wrong later in the season I would have been happy with him. Just sad to see the season end after second day. Especially since I had been seeing much bigger deer.

I didn't have much time to size him up before making the decision. I did have several cam pics of him including one in velvet. I included one of his pics right after he shed his velvet. He "might" make 120 inches gross since he is a 10 point? I haven't scored him yet.

What's the old saying? If he's a shooter on the last day, he's a shooter on the first! ;) Your season is over already? Your state doesn't allow you to harvest Does? In my book an old slick head with a few seasons under her belt is as sharp as any Buck that ever walked. Who do you think taught him everything he knows? His Momma! ;)
