Tominator
I can hunt, but I can't hunt. Season is in here in Ohio, but I can't hunt. Too much to do with the new house. Stupid bank (no offense Kev ) If it wasn't for the bank holding up the loan on our new home, I'd be in that new home now and not painting it every night for the next 3 weeks. Temps have really cooled down here, and I want to hunt. Last night as I was leaving the house at dusk I saw 11 deer, almost hit a fawn. 7 of them in one field right across from my apartment complex. :hammer1: I can hunt, but I can't hunt. Oh well................enough whining I guess.

Thanks bud. First LOL of the day. DB
Rhino
Heck Chris...like you said before this early season deer hunting is slow anyway. You said you never see much activity until the last week of October. Waste of time are your words as I recall. Never mind your BIG one from last year or Tom's from the year before that. They just forgot it was supposed to be the slow time and weren't supposed to move until after dark. They know better this year. Don't get paint on the new floors. I'll think about you when I'm in a tree Thursday for our opener killin time during the slow deer hunting period.

Ohiobucks
Here's a thought: Paint after dark. Hunt till dark, go to the house, paint for a few hours with the spotlight. Win-win.

Yeah, I knew my "friends" would hammer me for this post, but man, to be sitting in a stand tonight...

fly
I never get tired of the banter between you Ohio guys!:clown::clown::clown::clown::clown: Chris, don't feel too bad, I can't hunt (season isn't in yet) but can hunt (I've got the time). Win-win. Ummm, yeah. I'm old. When the sun goes down, it's sleepy time for Chrissy. I don't think I'd hold up too long painting by a spotlight. Turkeygirl
Where there's a will, there's a way...so if you really, really wanted to hunt...you'd make it happen...it's as easy as throwing on your camo, grabbing your bow, and putting that butt in a treestand....:-p But painting, well now...that may only come once in the next few years...so compared to hunting, painting is well worth giving hunting up for...lol

backwoods07
Someone call the Waaaaambulance. He built a new, great big house and can see dozens of deer and not shoot at them. Poor you!!! Sounds like life to me!

Adjam5
What do you want to hunt for.....All I hear is there is NO big bucks in Ohio.... There were at one time... but the last big one was shot last year...so I think Chris would just be wasting his time on stand. You should STILL be smiling from last year pal. Go paint, make Momma happy.
wtnhunt
No problems with the bank here bud, but can feel your pain, have cut short some of my time in the woods to work on stuff with the house. Been out a few times, have had some does walk under me, opted to shoot with the camera http://www.realtree.com/forums/blog.php?b=382. Things can only get better granted I can make the time to get out. Basement is still not poured, but our contractor started laying logs here, I need to post some pics. ruttinbuc
Really sucks for me to have to get up at 5am every morning to go sit in a tree. About all I am doing though, sitting. It has its moments this bow hunting thing! Don't think you are missing much, Chris! :turned: Anybody have a rifle? Should have stayed where I was...dang it Rifle?____ Anyone? layin on the smackdown
I never get tired of the banter between you Ohio guys!:clown::clown::clown::clown::clown: . yep Frank, its like Lavern and Shirly all over again...:clown::clown::clown: I feel for ya chris...here is my philisophical side of things... the walls aren't going anywhere, but bow season is...do what ya can when ya can and go hunting!!! Save the painting for warm, rainy or windy days.

Thanks for all the "friendly" comments folks, lol. I guess part of the problem is the logistics of the kids too. 2 of them are at cross country practice, 1 of them wants to go to open gym all the time, and the little guy doesn't have anything to do, so he gets off the bus and stays with me unless his mom can come and pick him up. Based on all the "support" y'all are giving me though, think I'm going to make time to hunt tomorrow night.
