Tony
ive had my hunting bow all dialed in since way back in june. i have been practicing a lot lately and the bow is/was shooting great. so today, i decide im going to turn my peep just a little bit get it to line perfectly up. i dont want to have to turn the peep slightly to shoot and i sure didnt want to take the D loop it off and replace it. so i figure im going to take the string off one end, put a slight turn in it and put it back on. i just hate a d loop and a peep that doesnt line up. so i put my bow in my press and crank it down. what i forgot to do was move the arms in to allow for the cams to not hit. somehow the limbs slid out of the limb pockets about a 1/4 of the way. i had to take my strings off and reseat the limbs back into the limb pockets and then put the strings back on the bow. everything went ok, but now i have to go and see if my sights are still on. problem is i have to go to work in a hour and it will have to wait until tomorrow. which is the day before bow season. just great sighitng in and retuning my bow the day before bow season, lesson learned, dont go messing with your bow when its shooting good. i feel like such a Moron.. Rhino
Well Tony...if it makes you feel better I've made some last minute bad decisions that left me resighting my bow in right before the opener. :hammer1: The big difference is I didn't admit to it on an open forum. arrow32
I think everyones done something along the lines of being a moron atleast once before season. Know I have. Hope it doesn't change anything to much. Don't figure it will.
RangerClay
We all pull bonehead moves like that every now and then. You will be up and running again in no time.
m gardner
Yep, I've got one bow I never touch until after the season. The rest I'm free to play with all I want. I learned the same way. Singed the string after putting a larger peep in. Needed a new string I didn't have on hand. Ooops! Mark

sskybnd
is that the same bow you used in wy this year? seemed to fling them arrows pretty straight.:hammer1:
ruttinbuc
I have been guilty of doing that kind of stuff. I managed to break my sight up in Alaska. There was no pin guard on it and the fiber broke. I need to get it re wrapped. In the meantime, since my season started the week I got home, I painted the tip of the pin white. It works, but I think I'll be putting my other sight on before Saturday. It is not as bright as the Vital Gear, but brighter than white. Tony
yea robert same bow. but the peep was just slightly off. guess i will find out in the morning how she shoots. just in case i do have a back up camo Hoyt Protec i could shoot. you would think after 35 years of bowhunting i would have learned a few things. :hammer1:this wont even work on the hardest of heads.:hammer1: Tony
The Kid
got a story for you that might ease your mind last year i was shootingmy switchback shooting great and everything well i was tighting everything down and notice that one of my screws stripped on my trophyridge sight,, mind you this is the day before season starts well i take my old sight off my first ever bow that i owned, got it shooting good and since then have not went to another sight,, the next day on the opener i shot a 7 pointer with a 16 inch spread double brow on his right side,, i have a feeling that your gonna figure things out and have everything come together!! Tom2008
I have new arrows showing up today and have to glue inserts in and fletch. Wait 24 hours and then shoot them from 20 to 50 yards. I feel confident in shooting it and getting them all in and where I want them. Just a lot to do before FRIDAY evening. backwoods07
Makes me wanna shoot one last time before the opener tomorrow...I think I'm gonna do that now to make sure everythin is still ok. I hate being rushed at the last minute! Things will work out though. If you know your bow, it won't take much to get it dialed in.
