PAarcher
Hung one last stand today before the opener this Saturday. I found 4 piles of scat within 50yds of my stands . . . Hopefully this doesn't screw up my deer hunting. Those stands might double as bear stands this yr as well I'm definetly going to be buying an archery bear tag. MNcrittergittr
Lol, I've noticed at one of my spots where I have a ground blind, about 5 yards in front of the blind there is a leaning pine tree that a bear has regularly been using for a back scratcher. There are always big piles of bear scat in our woods and around our stands. We have bear on our property and all over where we deer hunt. We've never had any bear related deer hunting problems. We get pics of them every now and then, thankfully they've never ruined our trail cams (yet). Their comfortable home range can be huge, but yeah if you have a bear tag you might be able to score big time! Good luck and go get 'em! check this northern Minnesota brute out: http://www.minnesotabucks.com/DeerMoosePhotos/TCMattBear.jpg http://www.minnesotabucks.com/DeerMoosePhotos/TC07TFBlackBear.jpg http://www.minnesotabucks.com/DeerMoosePhotos/TC07TFBlackBear2jpg.jpg Edited September 29, 2009 by MNcrittergittr

PotashRLS
I wouldn't be too concerned. We saw more deer from our bear setups this year than bear. And this was at actual bait sites, not just good looking deer setups. The deer didn't actually go to the bear bait, but several were within bow range of our tree. PAarcher
Thanks for the info guys, I'm not too worried there were both fresh bear tracks and lots of fresh deer tracks in the field. So we'll see hopefully I will be posting a pic of a nice buck soon as well as a bear come november!
