muggs
What a joke. Sure, Quinn has struggled, but we already know what we have with DA and it's not the answer...so shouldn't Quinn be given more than 10 quarters to show what he really is? Better play calling would also help. Edited September 30, 2009 by muggs
c_lou
Better ownership would help as well. That and some receivers and a running back would help out as well.

All this is very true. But as far as the playcalling goes. They ran a QB sneak on first down...at midfield!!! I'm not kidding. It starts at the top, and our owner is an idiot. Not sure if you realize this c lou, but Mangini was the only guy he interviewed...even if you're going to hire the guy, at least bring in other guys to see what they have to say. I wanted Rex Ryan, Spagnola and especially Mike Shanahan. I think he was trying to avoid hiring another up and coming assistant since so many have failed here. So he wanted a guy with experience...maybe he knew Shanahan would turn him down...I'm not sure. But it was handled with the savvy of an AIG exec...lame. c_lou
His first mistake was getting rid of their GM. He was starting to get some talent through the draft. You need certain types of players to try and run your team like the Pats. They just don't have that in Cleveland.

He made some good draft picks, but his late round picks have not really done much. Still though, he was one of the better GMs in the league. He had a lot of PR flubs his last season which I think had a lot to do with him being fired. The whole Savage/Romeo regime was disfunctional. The OC was going behind Romeo's back, Romeo was so loyal to the veterans he wasn't putting the talent Savage drafted him on the field...and Lerner (owner) lives in London so I think Savage was probaby going over his head- which again was probably a major reason he was axed. At this point, the Browns are as bad as the Raiders and Lions when it comes to front office/ownership mismanagement...probably worse. The shame of it is all three have good fans... At least that's what we have been reading on this forum for the last 5 years. :wine: I'd like to see what Quinn could do if they took the handcuffs off him, they don't even give him a chance to succeed. :pop:

I'd like to see that too. On top of handcuffing the offense, both QBs are afraid they'll get pulled and it's messing with their minds. Bad enough they had to go all training camp not knowing who was actually the starter. What a crock.

What a crock. What do you mean affraid Anderson obviously could care less because he threw 3 second half picks!!!!Your coach is the biggest crock of **** I've seen. I vote that the player fined for the water bottle takes that same bottle and gives Mangina a colonoscopy(sp) with it and leaves it in there.... Welcome Clevland the new Al Davis of the midwest!!!!!
