doubleA
Well I am just about done tinkering with this 10FP, I only have a bolt mod left to do. Here she is after cutting the 26 inch barrel back to 20", recrowning, threading and installing a Badger brake and painting everything other than the scope. I should be able to put some rounds down range tomorrow and see what kind of velocities she will do with less barrel.
toddyboman
she looks amazing! I will be curious to hear how the new modifications perform
Rem308
Easiest way to say it, I'm very impressed. That's some good work you've done there, I certainly hope it shoots better for you. Let us know.
doubleA
I had a chance to put a few rounds through it yesterday, it's best 5 shot groups are 3/4". I have only shot 168gr AMax and Match Kings though it with R-15 and am hoping it will do better with a 155 or 175gr pills along with Varget if I can find some. It certainly dealt a blow to this pig after the shooting session just after dark.
hunterbobb
I've found that IMR 4064 works very well in that caliber. You might want to give it a try.
doubleA
I shot this 5 shot group at 300yards with a168 amax and Reloder15. I then started working with IMR-4895 just before dark, it showed some potential. Slightly under 2 inches. BTW, the velocity loss with removing 6 inches of barrel is 70 fps using the same load. wtnhunt
Looks good Charlie, nice work. Sounds like it is shooting a good bit better too.
doubleA
I shot the hog Thursday evening and we had tenderloins for lunch after church on Sunday. It's one of the family's favorite meals. 35 minutes later............
