Uugh........so it's 7:16 this morning and it's legal shooting light, but due to overcast and fog it's not ethical shooting light.....So take a wild guess what happens.....

So I'm busying texting my buddy and rustle... rustle... rustle... snap....So I get the phone in the pocket get my hand on my bow and I look back and there's a deer at 21 yards. My first thought is wow that's a big body then it moves and I'm pretty sure I can make out horns...There are 3 of them. The front deer then looks away from me. I can make out what I think is his rack looking away and he looks about 18-20 wide, but I can't quite tell....

All that is flashing in my head is... "don't make a mistake and shoot a deer that isn't big enough. Is this just my imagination playing tricks on me. He looks big, but then again it could be a branch....**** I can't tell...." Then another deer moves up that is quite a bit smaller then I can make a rack out on his head.....This buck is still looking away from me and now he turns his head and I can see he's a shooter!!! The only problem is I'm stuck with these two other bucks right there. I can't draw and I have to watch this buck walk right out of the lane and away.....As he turns I see what appears to be 10inch g-2's and some great 3's as well.......All I can think is why couldn't that be 5 mintues later so I could make out the rack sooner and I probably would be posting pics......

It was a great morning as well. I saw a total of 19 deer and 8 bucks..The young bucks were all amped up in the cold weather. Getting all frisky and nudging does.....

The season is off to a great start........
