Guest TennesseeTurkey
keep my string from twisting and it used to be where I could just latch my release on the loop and it would straighten but now I have to twist my peep back in line and twist my loop back after every shot... How do I keep it from doing this?.... its getting rediculous
camoman1
Im no expert.....but it sounds like your string is showing signs of stretching...(maybe??) How old is your string?...could be time for a new one. Actually I see you have a Alphamax....so your string shouldnt be that old.
Clap33
I just had the same problem and I took it to the pro shop and had a new string loop put on it and have not had a problem since. I would start there before getting a new string.

No, the strings not old, but it's a FUSE string and they suck bad. It's string stretch guaranteed. Take it to the closest shop and have them re-align the string for you. I would strongly recommend that you get a new set of strings and cables before next year. I worked on one AM this year that had 4'' of stretch!! I've had great luck with Fuse and know other people who have to. About once a year tho I do have to twist my string a bit due to my peep not lining up. jbeck
Put it in a bow press, take one strand from one side behind the peep and a strand from the other side in front of the peep. This will rotate the peep, work in this manner until the peep ligns up automaticaly, Heck when I started everybody had to know this if they shot a peep, those stretchy things mounted on the limbs where not invented yet. Old guys have some advantage. : )
The_Kat
change your loop position to where it twists around. It's definitely from your string stretching though. FUSE is notorious for it. I don't understand why Hoyt even bothers using their strings. Ask any hoyt shooter what the first thing ya do with your new hoyt bow......go get a new set of strings and cables after about a month or two of shooting the Fuse set. Tony
what you have is string stretch, take ito a pro shop and have them work on it. they will either turn your d loop, add a little twist to the main cable to allow the peep to turn properly or put on a new d loop. while it is common for new strings to stretch a little, the new Hoyts seem to be really bad for this. i would have thought if you bought the bow new, that the string would have been stretched in by now. it usually takes about 500 shots to get it into shape. again if you bought your bow form a local archery shop, im sure they will do a peep turn for you for nothing. thats the policy we had at the shop where i helped out at. i do have a 2008 Hoyt UltraElite bow i bought with the same Hoyt strings on it. they did stretch a little at first, but i have not had one problem with them.
