Ohiobucks
Now put a climber 15 yards away and nail em. Yep, did that last Saturday morning, with the exception of the "nail 'em" part. I was about 20 yards away from that ladder stand, 22 feet up a tree in my climber. Well, go here for the rest of the story..... http://www.realtree.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90923

When we put it up, all of the trees had nothing.

sluggunner
BUSTED big time. Deer are not stupid, and they will notice how different the stand looks when a blob of a human is sitting up in it. I doubt those deer would be standing that close to that stand looking up and investigating it if there was a person in it. At leaast not the deer where I hunt, they wouldn't come anywhere near it if it looked the slightest bit different next time they wandered through that neck of the woods. Stone Cold
I have a ladder stand that now is in the possition that this one is in due to a few factors. The other trees that had limbs have been there so long they are dead or dieing and not stable enough for this big boy to want to stand in. Some of the newer trees have a few branches but Ivy vines all over them and will sway with the wind. Then the trees that are just not big enough! I killed my biggest buck out of this stand and have had many more right there. I had a small button buck rubbing my stand with me in it. That is the first time I have ever had that happen and I have been hunting for 12 years. I think that as long as you are not on the edge or at an opening you still have the break up behind you when they look from trees that are a few feet away! Here is the buck I shot from my stand like that! He looked at me but had no clue and kept coming to the 8 pointer up on the hill. c_lou
The ladder stand I put up this year has branches zip tied to the outside if the ladder. Probably not as brushed in as it could be but it's not bad.
