redkneck
Just thought I'd pass along some advice for you guys with leaf river cams. My batteries were new, and indicators showed good. Display would not power on. Nice fellow helped me over the phone, I switched places with the left and right row D batteries and she powered up! He told me not to use energizers again, too low milliamps from them. So if your screen wont power up, get some new batteries, despite the fact that the battery life indicator shows good, and don't use energizer. Just thought I'd pass that on. wtnhunt
Interesting, thanks for passing this along John. This refurbed unit they sent me, I have had all kinds of issues with it not taking pics when I know it should be. Problems with the viewer screen too. Had 368 events last time I checked it and only 3 pics. I have been using energizers, would never have thought that they were too low a milliamp battery, in most instances in my old cam before the refurb energizers outlasted any of the other brands I used.

I've been getting energizer industrials, and getting really good life out of them, and just replaced my C's last week. This time it was the D's that were the problem (supposed to work the IR). I had 68 events and no pics. Apparrently the D's work more than just the IR. At any rate, just by switching the left and right batteries was enough to power up the cam. I dont know why, I'm just passing along the info. I knew you had one, don't know how many others on here has one too. Going to switch out the batteries for some Duracells, and give it another go. I absolutely hate the interface on this camera, but have to admit, it's been tough and has taken pics in rain, sleet, and has never let me down in four or so years until now. JackedUpZ71
I have a question for yall. Do your cameras ever quit keeping the date? My battery indicator on mine never says that its running low, but after a month or two of running all the pictures will say 1/1/07 12:00:00. So I just swap out the batteries and reset the date and she's good to go.
